Room occupancy question... please help

With the new addition to our family, I believe we may be limited as to where we can stay. It will be me, wife, mother-in-law, son (6), son (2), and infant son (yes, my three sons). All of the occupancy limits list number of adults plus a child in a crib. What if we have 2 cribs? Does anyone know what Disney's policy is on this. We loved CSR last time and the room seemed big enough for another crib (at the time we had only 1). Is this possible - please help.

Why not just call CRO and ask?

Most WDW rooms sleep either 4 or 4 with an under 3yo in a crib. For 6 you will need either 2 rooms or a Home-Away-From-Home resort. (JMO, but I can't imagine you would be comfortable with 3 adults and 3 children in a standard moderate room...even if it were allowed.)

My suggestion would be to go for a Fort Wilderness cabin. You will have a living room, bedroom and full kitchen. They will run a bit more than the moderates, but less than the other Home Away From Home units and you can save some money by having breakfast in the room each day.

Have fun no matter what you decide.

I've done what you are doing. Disney will allow 2 infants in cribs & 4 people in most deluxe resorts w/ the exception of WL. The rooms in the 3 newer buildings at the Poly are large & have plenty of room for your other children to run around. Good luck!

With the exception of the villas, etc., most rooms are set up to sleep four or five, but you need to think about other apects. For the most part, your entire party will be getting up and showering at about the same time every morning and with only one bathroom, this process could take significant time out of your day, especially if you repeat the process later in the day to get ready for dinner. There's also the issue of space for all the clothes and luggage.

The rooms that can accommodate more people comfortably will likely cost more than two connecting rooms at a value or moderate resort. Plus, you'll get two bathrooms and a little more privacy.

The year we took our daughter and two grandchildren we did just that at the CBR and it worked out well at less cost than most larger rooms.

Instead of looking at how many a room will sleep, consider the ratio of two or three per bathroom.

When we stayed at FW Cabins in '94, we had 2 adults, 10, 9. 8 yo, a 2½ yo and an 8-week old. When I booked they asked if we wanted the 2 cribs. Now, of course the FW cabins have a lot more floor space than a regular room, and 2 cribs would have been just fine.

I would just call and ask if you want to know about rooms that allow 4. But remember that most of the deluxes allow 5 plus 1 in a crib, so you should be fine at those without having to upgrade to a home away from home room. I wouldn't worry about the one bathroom since your kids are so young. I'm sure they bathe at night, and probably not each individually, and only the adults would really need the bathroom much in the mornings.

I'd put as many as would fit. Togetherness, togetherness, togetherness. That's what it's all about anyway.
