I prefer to be aft...Love the location. A close walk to the pools, and other amenities... We love dek 6 or 7 aft. I find it close to most things, and really do not need the elevators...
It is said to be that the lower you are, the less movement..I do find this true, as we have been on decks 2, 6, and 7, and Deck 2 we felt the less movement....
We've only been on 1 cruise, and stayed in the aft. I really liked it a lot. When we do cruise again, I will choose that area. I loved that it was really quiet back there, and the stairs were right there, so you don't have to wait on the elevators!

This is interesting to me as others have also said that you feel less movement on the lower floors and everyone in our group feels the opposite! Our rooms are on decks 7 and 8 but all the restaurants and entertainment are on decks 3 and 4. The first day and a half, before we had our sea legs, several of the adults in our group had to go "upstairs" after dinner (and in one case, during a show) because we felt the ship's movement so much. My husband is particularly susceptible and he stayed on decks 8 and 9 as much as possible.
However, once we got used to it, the movement isn't bad at all and in my case, it's kind of enjoyable.
As for other locations, we're slightly forward of the middle of the ship and find it onvenient to everything. (I would feel the same if we were aft, though...things just aren't that far away and I'm even taking the stairs most of the time to make up for not working out enough.)
