I know this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it...

Can I use my resort room key tied to a credit card at all of the restaurants at WDW, including counterservice?

If so, do many of you use this method or carry cash? I have a rewards credit card and thought this would be a great way to earn points!

We used our room key to charge at both counter service and full service restaurants. It worked out great for us. It's so much easier than carrying around all that extra cash.

You can use it anywhere in the parks and resorts with the exception of SOME of the free-standing vending carts (that sell sodas, ice cream, etc). (The pin and souvenir carts will all take room charge, as far as I know)

If the cart has electricity for the cash register, then it should be that you can charge! It's usually only the little ice cream/water/drinks carts that you can't. I always charge when I can, and carry the bare minimum in cash when I am onsite.

I know that the cart that sells beaver tails does not take the room charge card.

As stated, everwhere takes the room key card except some free standing vending carts. The other thing we like about using your key is when you get your credit card bill there will be only one charge which makes reconcilliation easier versus reconcilling 50 charges.
