room key cards

Just back. Trying to catch up on these boards and was wondering:

Is there any meaning to the room key card colors?

I've only had brown(gold?) at the Poly and CR.

I've only had blue at the BWI, YC, and BC.

I think AKL was brown but not sure.

Are the MK resorts brown and the Epcot resorts blue?

Are there any other colors?

Is there life after WDW?

I had a blue key for CR, and a purple one for the DI.

I had a pretty gold one for AKL concierge.

In June, we had blue at PO-R and YC.

Last 4 trips to CR - 3 blue and 4th (oldest) is purple (I know because they're still in my wallet.)

Both trips to ASSp. This year card is blue and 2000 purple.

I've had blue with charging back to the room on it and goldish brown as a replacement that I could not charge with (locked the key in the room at the Institute). They also said the gold key would let me into the spa at the Institute, but a blue key any other property would not. I didn't try it, I just was glad to get back into my room! I think I've had purplish and I have an old one with holes in it, from before thay did the kind they use now. I think I've had a regular key, once, also.

I just looked at my cards, All Star Sports, All Start Music, French Quarter and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and all four of them are blue. But maybe the different colors do let you into different areas at the resorts. Such as the spas, etc.
