Room Key and Park Tickets

When staying on Disney Resorts, does your room key double as the park ticket too? Or do you have to carry multiple cards? Thanks in advance.

If you get a package that includes room and tickets, you'll have just one card - your room key - that will do everything. If you have a room-only arrangement and get the tickets separately, you'll have two cards. You'll still be able to use your room key to charge things if you want, but you'll need your admission ticket/card to get into the parks.

If you bought the tickets separately, the resort can put them onto your room key. We just did this when we were at the Poly last week. The people at guest services did this for us.

does this also apply if you bought your tickets from an outside source such as ticketmania or can they only do it if the tickets were bought from Disney? Is there a charge for this service?

I don't think it matters where you bought it from as long as they are MYW passes. We had bought the adult MyW passes through the CRO (via our TA) and they were already put on our room keys when we checked in. The MYW passes for our kids were ones that we got by redeeming points through a consumer rewards program (Air Miles). We needed to go to Poly guest services to get those ones put on our kid's room keys. There was no charge.

When I booked my room only reservation for November, CRO told me when I am ready to buy MYW tickets just call back and purchase through them. The CM told me when I check in they will be on our room key.
