Help! It will be me, DH, DS(4), and parents. I had my heart set on WL, thinking that we would pay the xtra pp charge, with DS sleeping w/us or grandparents. But, I'm told thru agent that WL only accepts 4/room. Has anyone ever put more than 4/room in WL? What should I do now?

Hi, the rooms at the WL are too small for 5 people.
What about 2 rooms?

You need a deluxe resort that has 2 queens and daybed to fit 5 in one room. AKL, YC, BC, Poly all have these rooms.

If you have your heart set on the WL, get 2 std rooms or try a 1 bedroom at the WLV's.

You have gotten some good suggestions. The Wilderness Lodge does offer a deluxe room that has 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Have you considered a cabin at Fort Wilderness? They are also pretty nice.

1 BR villas also only sleep 4. They have a king bed plus a queen sofa. Max occupancy is 4, even though there is more floor space. :(

Yes, it's correct WL only sleeps 4 per room. You're only options are two rooms, a deluxe room or a two bedroom villa at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge for 5 people. The resorts that will sleep 5 in a room are: Port Orleans Riverside(Alligator Bayou only and double beds w/ trundle pullout), Beach Club, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Animal Kingdom Lodge (deluxe room only).

The deluxe rooms at the Wilderness Lodge will sleep 5. I don't know how much more expensive they would be but it appears from the room layout on Disney's website that they are nice and big, almost like a suite. You can look at it here:WL Deluxe room layout

If you are open to other resorts, the Contemporary and the Poly will have the largest rooms for 5, followed by Grand Floridian, Yacht & Beach Club, deluxe rooms at Boardwalk, deluxe rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I don't know how the size of the Home Away from Home Resorts compares to the standard rooms at the other resorts but they have the added benefit of kitchenettes.

Thanks to all of you for your responses. I had to book the YC (am using agent), as this was the only thing available for my dates (10/19-10/26) other than the Poly. Everything else is sold out (villas, etc) due to this FTP (deluxe WL not availabe on FTP) So, with WDTC on line with us, I had to make a snap decision between the two. Based on the research I'd done here, that snap decision led to YC for considerably more than what I had intended on paying with the WL. Oh well, hopefully, some kind person will post and tell me that I made the right decision.

Thanks again for coming to my quick aid on this post--everyone here is just awesome.:)

Either the YC or Poly would be fine! The pool at the YC is great and you can walk to MGM and Epcot and the Boardwalk. The Wilderness Lodge will be there waiting for you another day. :)
