Room for 4/5?

As stated you will not be allowed in that room with 5.

AllStar Music offers a Family Suite that has the Roll-in Shower. This gives you a bedroom, two baths, kitchenette and 3 sleeping surfaces in the living room for 4. Plenty of room. As PP stated this gives you a true living room for DH to sit and watch tv or whatever while you all are gone. This would be your best option ... with the most space for the dollar.

Your other options would be:
- 2 rooms at a value and request but not guaranteed connecting rooms
Although I think the HA rooms are connecting so odds are good.
- CBR or POR with the fold down murphy if your smallest fits
- AoA Suites but they are more than Music
- Ft Wilderness Cabins
- Deluxe
- Offsite

Depending on time of year and discounts, two rooms may be your least expensive option but ASMU Suites might be best set up.

Not like the "good old days" when you could book a room and cram anyone and everyone in it.

A party of five can't stay in a four person room. It's regrettable that you consider your larger family to be punished when it comes to hotel rooms. May I ask if you feel the same way about needing to pay for a larger house or apartment than a family of four needs? Or food? Clothing purchases?

Disney is actually somewhat unique in offering various occupancies. Be careful visiting New York, where a double really hold just two people. Don't go to Las Vegas. A lot of hotels charge for kids.

It's not a punishment at all. Disney simply hasn't built their value resorts to hold more than 4 people (with the exception of the family suites as noted).

In your situation, you may find that staying offsite is better, cost-wise, for your family.

Everyone chooses their family size for different reasons. But you then have to be prepared to make decisions based on that size.

I'm sure no one does that, and that's not at all what I said.

People choose their family size for a variety of reasons. But then whatever size of family you choose, you have to be prepared to make decisions based on that size of family. Disney isn't punishing anyone.

It isn't punishment. Just as you wouldn't expect to feed 5 people at the same cost as 4, fly 5 people for the same cost of 4, or stuff 5 people consistently into a car that is a little squeezed with 4, you are going to pay more for more space with 5.

Saying you're being punished for being a family of five is equally ridiculous as complaining we're a family of three so we're being overcharged for a room that would sleep 4 at the same price.

Pricing aside, the real punishment would be spending several days crammed inside a standard value resort room with four other family members.

No but I highly doubt anyone who has more than 2 kids think anything is going to cost the same as when they had 2 kids.
