Hi, was hoping someone could tell me what is available in the room at GCH? We stayed 2 years ago and I really can't remember if there was a fridge? Also is there a DVD player these days, I read somewhere that there was, yet I've been told that it's only for Concierge level guests.

Can someone who has stayed recently in a std view room please share?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, they all have the small fridges in the rooms. They also now all come with DVD players, and really nice flat screen TV's! All rooms have coffee makers as well.

You have to bring your own DVD's though. You can only rent them if your at the Concierge level. We bring a bunch of our own for our portable DVD player anyway, so that wasn't a problem for us.

We stayed in a GCH standard room in December 2007, and there was a mini-fridge, which I was happy with. You get chocolates every night from housekeeping, when they knock on your door to ask if you want turn-down service. There are two terry cloth bathrobes hanging in the closet. H20 bath products in the bathroom. The typical coffee maker, hair dryer and what not. There is room service. I COULD be wrong, but I THINK there was a DVD player in our room, but we did not use it. The beds are quite tall, and I had to climb up on mine (I am about 5'5")! Not a lot of floor space. The cable channels on TV are quite limited. You only get very basic CNN, TBS, USA, TNT. Oh, and the Disney channel, of course! We had a view of the two other Disney hotels. I think you get two firm pillows per bed and there is an extra blanket and pillow in the closet. There is also a room safe in the closet, and a laundry bag.

The rooms are very lovely and comfortable! There are dvd players; at concierge level you can borrow movies for free. Large dorm-sized fridge; we kept milk, soymilk, juice, yogurt and bottled water in there (and leftover goodies from our Fantasmic dessert box, YUM!) :thumbsup2

Do you get the turn down service even if you aren't concierge there? Also do they have any sort of laundry service at the resort hotels? I really hate spending one of my vacation days doing laundry :rotfl:

We were offered the turn down service and we were not concierge at all. The housekeeping staff comes by around 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., knocks on the door, hands you your chocolates (usually anywhere from 2 to 4 candies with Disney characters on them) and asks if you want turn down. And there are laundry bags in the closet, so I am pretty sure there is an on-site laundry facility in GCH as well as a laundry service for an extra fee to housekeeping there as well.
