Room Discounts for Oct 4- 8th????

Hi Everyone,

I am running the TOT with my husband from Oct. 4th to the 8th. I booked a room at the Beach Club (we are splurging since we won't have our three sons .... sshhhh ... don't tell them! ) Anyway, we are not interested in FD since we aren't planning on eating many big meals for various reasons (running the race, Food and Wine) .... but I am interested in a room discount.

The "leaked" FD offer does not include the dates of our trip .... so .... what are the chances that the room discount will be blocked for these dates too ....

Do room discounts usually follow the FD dates? What has happened in the past?

I know this is all speculation, but just trying to be prepared.

As the mini marathon has grown more popular, we've noticed the lack of discounts for 'our' regular week...I blame it all on you! lol jk Several years we wound up staying offsite at a couple of different deluxe resorts (for the same price we'd be paying @ a value) when we waited too long to book DVC and I couldn't find a deal onsite.

Let me add we are paying thru the nose for a night @ AoA during marathon weekend in January. it was explained to me by CRO that it's now considered premium time, but the GD 'has' to stay there.

Usually, there is some sort of hotel information on the registration website as to official hotels/rates with bus service provided to race...did u check it out?

The Room Only Discounts will run from September 29th until December 23rd, with blackouts during Thanksgiving week (Nov 23-29).

The Gartner Convention is being held at the Epcot Resorts Oct 6 to 10. You may not be able to get a discount for Beach Club during that time.

I just tried calling again, and they still are not offering any discounts. Didn't someone say Visa card holders would get the discount starting this past Monday?

August 1 was the actual leak. My leaks never state a Disney visa date....but we all assume three days early. It would seem, for whatever reason, that the visa isn't going to get a jump on things this year.

Thank you everyone for helping me. I will be calling tomorrow morning to see what I can get. I can't believe all the activities that are happening that weekend!
