If you're not in a big rush to book and aren't set on one particular resort, I'd wait and see when the public discount comes out to see if you can stack it with one of the travel website codes. I have a list of about 7 different resorts/room types that we are interested in so I don't HAVE to HAVE a specific resort booked right away. I'm hoping to stack the Disney discount with a 15 or 20% off code from Orbitz/CheapTickets/Expedia etc. The only catch is that you have to pay in full at the time of booking.

I've never heard of doing this. How do you go about it?

Lately Cheap Tickets hasn't been including the Disney resorts with their extra percentages off but Orbitz does. I was able to get 15% because I waited too long and the 20% expired. Hoping for another 20%

We just stacked an orbitz 15% off at Art of Animation. So worth it! You can also do it on cheaptickets. Honestly, if you check out mousesavers, they usually have great tips on saving money. I tried booking through a Disney travel agent and I felt bad but since she couldn't match the orbitz price I didn't work with her. I also got my tickets from another site and saved money there. I feel like it's much more expensive to go directly through Disney. At least that's been my experience.

Just booked AKL savannah view 9/12-9/16 ( so mainly weekend rates) average $350 a night with tax. Got through in 5 minutes. I am happy with the rate. We are not even going to parks. I have 2 hotels left that I have not stayed at AKL and SSR. When we do disney we now have to stay at MK and Epcot resorts for transportation options. Cant stand bus only option. SO we have never stayed at AKL. We will be at Universal the rest of the week staying onsite. We are spending the beginning of week hanging at AKL and and going to sea world one day, then switch to Royal Pacific. We have gone before without doing parks and actually just got back from Disney for a field trip so I am ready to chill at AKL and finally try Boma. Love the Disney hotels. There was a very hard sell on the phone to try to switch me to free dining, but I stuck with RO.

He worded it that he wasn't able to pick it so it sounded like it was excluded instead of sold out. Anyone else had luck around these dates?? We have 15% AAA right now but I'll gladly take an extra 10%!

I was able to get a RO discount for 9/21-9/27. It came to 20% and was only valid on the river view rooms.

The discount should be 20% for those dates. Must be sold out.

We'd made a reservation for Courtyard View at WL through AAA at 15% off, making sure to secure some kind of discount. Just heard back from our agent that she was able to modify it to 30% off. Yay! We'll be there August 31 - Sept 7.

I've never heard of doing this. How do you go about it?

Once the discounted rooms come out for the general public, the rates will be already loaded into the travel companies' websites. All you have to do is google for the coupon codes or if you want to you can sign up for their emails. I get codes from one company or another every week. Sometimes they work on Disney and/or Universal rooms, sometimes not. It will say "promo code applied" or something similar to let you know if it took the code.
