We told my sister-inlaw she could use some of our points for a stay at WDW, no charge. Now I'm wondering what happens if they charge food, drinks, etc on their KTTW card but then leave without paying for it. I don't think they would do that but I'm just wondering what if.

If they want charging privileges on the room key, let them be the ones to set it up. Don't do on line check in with your charge card.

They won't be able to use the KTTW card for charges unless they put a charge card on the account at check in. So you'll be fine.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was having one of those 'moments of panic' imagining hundreds of dollars of food and booze charged to me. WHEW.

Unless someone messes up.

There was a situation a few years ago where an owner's relative did leave a card, but DVC neglected to bill his charges to it. Instead, the room charges went unpaid and the owner's DVC account was frozen until it was cleared up. There was no notification at all to the owner -- he found out when he tried to make a reservation and was denied because his account was frozen.

So...small chance of a problem, but it has happened rarely.
