Room Block Worries

Hey everyone!!
Ok so I was talking to my cousin about the wedding and she said that she would be interested in camping at Disney instead of staying at one of our chosen resorts. I love that idea since she is big on camping. However, even though I havn't booked the campsites in our room block could she still book it under our wedding and have it count towards our minimum? Also would she still benefit from a discounted price?

I know I have info on this somewhere but you guys are so wise and I am too lazy to find said info at the moment.

Merci! :bride:

We just did our room block and they said that you can only give discounts to the resorts you choose - and campsites weren't on there (since campsites are already so cheap, I don't think a discount would even make a difference). I remember seeing on the block that you can choose the cabins (I think).

I am also pretty sure it DOES count towards your block minimum...just if it's a resort you didn't choose it doesn't get a discount...

Don't quote me, I'm just letting you know what I think...:confused3 Hope I didn't confuse you even more! hhehe

It will count toward your minimum no matter how she books it—you'll just need to get her reservation number to add to your guarantee.

But since Ft. Wilderness campsites are not block-able by DFTW, she will not get the wedding discount. A bunch of new resort discounts are supposed to be announced tomorrow, though, so maybe she can take advantage of one of those! :thumbsup2

I don't think campsite are eligible for the room black discount but I am 100% sure that aslong as she stays on Disney property the nights count towards the 25 night minimum. We made reservations through our DVC membership and called the room block reservations number and added our nights. We have family members that have called as well and booked outside of the room block.

thanks ladies!!

I think our concern was more whether or not it would count towards our minimum. I really hope it does because I can see a lot of people opting for the least expensive option.

Yes it counts toward your room block. One of my bridesmaids and her family stayed at the Poly because her dad is a Travel Agent so they got his rate to stay there. All your room reservations manager would need is the reservation number and last name of the reservation. He/she can then find it in the system and add it to your manual count.
