Hey all!

I'm working on my room block. We're going to do Boardwalk as the Deluxe, but I would like some opinions about moderate/value. (I'm sure there are a million posts like this, but the search function hates me). What did you use for yours?

TIA! -Meg:cheer2:

Hey Meg we used Pop Century for the Value and Coronado Springs for Mod. I have never stayed at the CS but we LOVE the Pop!!!!! Good luck with the room block.

For our moderate we used POFQ and All Star Movies for our value. Out of the 50 people attending our wedding at least 40 of them stayed in POFQ, no one stayed in the All Star, 2 stayed in Pop because they had a Florida resident rate and the rest were at The Boardwalk Villas.

All our guests loved the POFQ. Disney put them all in the same building (building #2) on the first floor so everyone was near each other. This building is near the pool so everyone was able to hang out together there. The resort is small so everyone kept bumping into each other. The Food Court was great and we had a few meet and greets in the Scat Cat Club (which is the bar/lounge right off the lobby). We go to the Scat Cat Club all the time to listen to Elliot Dyson play music.

I would recommend this place. Everyone liked it so much my DH and I are going to Disney in March for his birthday and we are staying there with the 4/3 deal. We did not stay there for our wedding because we have II timeshare and made a swap to Saratoga Springs and then guests gave us two nights at The Boardwalk villas for a wedding gift.

I can't help with the value but we love CS as did our wedding guests. It's the most deluxe of the Mods - recently got upgraded queen beds instead of doubles like all the other mods and it has a Concierge level. Plus the food court is fantastic! It's nice because it is a convention resort, so it has other amenities the other Mods don't have - a spa, a hair salon, etc. It's a beautiful resort and I think a great choice.

We picked CS and Pop too. We've stayed at Pop and really like it and we've heard good things about CS:)

Thanks you all! :goodvibes We're leaning towards Boardwalk, POFQ and Pop. I have sent an email to our WC to ask if we can use the POP.

We used All Star Music as our value... PORS as our mod and wilderness lodge as our deluxe.

Make sure to ask about any rehabs on the hotel. I did look on wdwinfo.com so i thought we were safe. When we got to the all Star Music. They were redoing the lobby. So you could only go to the check in or out line. You had to walk around the building to get to your rooms, food and buses..

This was a little upsetting because it was really hot out in august and most of my guest were staying there and not happy with that and ask why i would pick music when the other two had no rehabs..

another thing was my guest were all of the resort some in the back and some in the front all different floors so it was hard to keep track. Our poor best man was the last building in the back along with my DH on the morning of the wedding. Thank god they drove the limo back to the area as per my request.

Pop wasnt an opinion when i made my room block.

This is another good reason for picking POFQ - the resort is only seven buildings so even if your guests are in different building - there is not too much walking for them to do. Disney put all our guests in the same building - and they even all checked in on different days - any day from Thrusday to Sunday and they got them all in the same building.

I so wish Pop was an option for our room block as we love it there! We've stayed at most of the moderates and really enjoy them all. As the pp mentioned POFQ is the smallest moderate so that is the one I would recommend.

I just heard from my WC and we can have the POP! Yay!!! :woohoo: So now I've got the resorts figured out, I have to figure out how to do this block thing. Blecchh... this is above my head!!:confused3

Yeah for getting Pop. We have never stayed there but went to visit when we were down for our wedding and really liked it.

I don't have to do room blocks as I'm an Escape, (:rotfl: )..ok, that doesn't sound right!

But....I would choose AS Movies (I've stayed both there and POP and preferred ASMovies)

And for Moderate it would be tough...I stayed at CBR and I really liked it, and I'm not familiar with CS (even though some of my family is staying there for the wedding), I'd probably go with CBR or POFQ....

Just my 2cents!

:)

Yay for getting POP!!!:woohoo: And good luck doing the room block! We just experienced that about a week ago and it was hours of scratching our heads and staring at the computer screen trying to figure out when each guest would be coming in and where they'd like to stay. :surfweb: The good news is, you'll feel very excited and like you've accomplished a lot afterwards!!

The room block was one of the hardest things for me. Really, I felt like I just couldn't wrap my brain around it. So I just guessed on how many nights and who would do what. I picked GF for my deluxe cause that is where we are staying and my parents as well. Then I picked the CBR for my moderate because it has recently been refurbished. We have stayed at CSR and hated it and I thought POR was OK, but DH didn't like it when we stayed there.(he is a resort snob!LOL) Then for the value resort we picked ASMo. We have been there before and I think it is pretty good. Really I think most of my guests will stay at a moderate resort so I just picked the value resort I had stayed at.

Yay for getting the POP!!!! I love it. We had a really hard time with our room block too. Good luck.

We stayed at POFQ on our trip and I am recommending it to all our guest. We love it there! It is beautiful and quiet, yet it has some good amenities for children too. It just has this atmosphere about it.
