So my wedding room block specialist is apparently on maternity leave. JUST found this out through her email away message after emailing her to add more rooms on for us for family. I am kind of ticked that no one told me about this, as she won't be back until mid-August, just like my wedding planner.

I guess I just call my planner and she can do it? :confused3

You and I must have the same specialist. I got an email from her replacement yesterday because we were due for an update. I didn't know the original girl was even leaving... :confused3

I was told by our reservation specialist to just call the DFTW reservation line to make needed reservations. We have talked to several specialists and they have been very helpful even though they are not assigned to our wedding. They will then update the specialist for your wedding.
They should have someone covering her Brides why she is on maternity leave! Check with your planner. The room block reservations have been the main stress point for me during the planning. Once you get all the reservations settled it's much better.:ccat:

I don't mind having to go through my planner to add more rooms. But I just hate playing the waiting game especially when my parents are ready to book their rooms. It was just frustrating to get her away message with no other notice.

Go through your sales consultant, not your wedding planner. :thumbsup2

Just out of curiosity--when do you get assigned a room block specialist? Is it closer to your wedding? We have already booked 13 or so nights at a DVC resort that I would like added to our count. I wasn't sure if I just got overlooked or if its something that comes later on. TIA!

Your dvc rooms will be entered as a manual booking....you just have to dive the coordinator the confirmation numbers and they will add them to your count

I think I got mine around the 7 month mark--- he just emailed me one day; I didn't even know I GOT a room block specialist!

I got in touch with someone at DFTW and they knew who I was talking about so they gave me her replacement's info. So everything's all good now. :thumbsup2 But if I didn't call I would still be waiting who knows how long for my planner to get back me to me.

I guess I have the same lady as you! We were due for our 4 month update yesterday and I was wondering why it hasn't come. It would be nice to get a heads up.
