Room Block question

Hi everyone I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me. I was under the impression that I had to do the room block at the time when I signed the LOA. I was just reading the passporters book again and now I'm confused as to if I have to do that before hand?:scared1: As for the LOA do I just contact them on the exact date that it's a year or should I contact them a few days ahead of time for them to send me the LOA on that day? I'm sorry if it's confusing I feel like I just got myself all twisted up :upsidedow

Though I am not sure about whether or not you have to pick rooms for the roomblock in order tobook with DFTW, I know that you can choose to opt out of the roomblock for Wishes weddings.

More concerning and time sensitive is that you seem not to have contacted DFTW yet? You should contact them and let them lead you as to timelines and booking procedures NOT go by your calendar even though you are correct about them NOT Abooking or confirming things until their strict timelines allow. there is NO way you could contact them a year from your date and expect any kind of contractual aggreement in your hands even in a week turn around time!! You want to be on their radar and penciled in as it were as soon as possible.

Good luck!

I have contacted them and I'm currently penciled in. It's just that I feel like I haven't gotten enough information from him. Whenever I email them I will get a quick response to the question but no guidance. Last time I emailed him all he said was I can't contract until the year mark but nothing was said about room block's or about the LOA. Which is why now I'm reading other posts or pj's and I'm getting a tad bit worried that I might be missing something. :confused3

If you are penciled in then hang in there because, sadly, there isn't anything else official to do. Except to plan!n!!

Oh ok thnx. That makes me feel alot better. I thought I was missing something. Thnx!

yeah, thats the main downside to the whole DFTW deal. the waiting from the beginning contact until the BEO point (and then theres MORE waiting!!) is tough. i felt like "let me give you money already!!" plus i know i'm not the first one to say that there is a good chance DFTW will be expecting their minimum payment $$$$ and you don't even have a pretty-close-todone BEO!

hang in there!!

Yea it's definitely how I'm feeling. I wish I could just send them the check and be like here! Confirm it!! :lmao: I guess this is the time for me to practice patience which is a virtue I don't possess. :rotfl:

I think a lot of us Dis brides can say the same, we do not like the waiting game. Uh, didn't mean to rhyme. :rotfl: I was on pins and needles until I was able to sign my contract, and now it's been a couple months since then, and I haven't done ANYTHING. That's partly because I am really busy with school, but it doesn't even feel like I'm getting married anymore because nothing is going on, I haven't heard from my planner at all except for one phone call and an email. We are just waiting until we can go in for our PS.

Yea I'm definitely on pins and needles. I'm counting down everyday. Mostly because I keep praying that no convention comes along and takes my spot. I think I would be devastated. I have my heart set on my 2 locations and the date. Oh well keeping my fingers crossed. I kinda want to get the ball rolling with things because I'm in school as well and I want to do things little by little so it doesn't overwhelm me.

That's exactly how I was, over the summer I wanted to get as much done as possible before school started cuz I knew as soon as Sept. hit I was going to be too busy to really concentrate on anything else but school. The only good thing about it is the time is going by a lot faster!:thumbsup2

I'm hoping that's the case for me as well. I see your going on the cruise for your honeymoon as well. I'm so excited. I can't wait for it all.
