DH and I are staying one night at SSR...with only one plan, to go to DTD and have cocktails/dinner. We would like to be able to walk or boat to DTD. What bldg should I request to make this the easiest??
Congress Park is right along the water and walkway to DTD Marketplace. There is also a walkway back to SSR from the Westside and you can enjoy a boat ride as well. Enjoy!
If you do request Congress Park ask for Building 16. It's right behind the quiet pool where the path to DTD begins. When DH and I stay at SSR we always ask for that location so DH can take his "walks" while I lounge by the pool!
FYI, there is no "Building 16". On some of the early SSR resort maps, the entire Congress Park area was identified by the number 16--all four buildings. See image below.
I'd request "Congress Park, close to Downtown Disney."
Thank you so much for posting that map. It will come in handy for me on this next trip.
I totally agree that asking for "close to downtown Disney" will help. But I must say again, in the past, when I would book SSR for my husband and myself, I would ask for "Building 16" and then give a specific room. Now, maybe there are no "building numbers" per se and the requested room number gives them a hint. But when I first started to stay at SSR I was told to ask for this "building number". Additionally last year I wanted to stay near the Springs and was told to ask for "building 35" with no specific room in mind.
It is posible that the "Section" Numbers on this map are what MS calls building numbers and by my giving them the room number they understand what building. I don't know. But what's interesting is, a couple of years ago I wanted to stay in the Springs and I posted a note here asking "what building was close to the bus stop". Well I got many replies and most included "building" numbers to ask for and the block of rooms contained in that building.. The more I think about it the clearer it is; "building numbers" equate to "Sections" and once a room number is given the assigner knows the building.
There; look at that!! You made me think and it's not even 6:30 am here in New York.
