Room available for 2 weeks but not 1?

I was price checking POR through the % off GP code that expires tomorrow. First I checked 11/25 to 12/09 and got a quote for both riverside rooms and royal rooms. I then checked for just 11/25 to 12/02 (in the event of a split stay) and got a message that POR had no rooms available. I then checked again for the two weeks and again got quotes for both riverside rooms and royal rooms. Why would these rooms be available for 2 weeks but not 1? Doesn't make sense to me.

Probably something to do with the offer and whatever the limitation is on it.

Not saying it makes a whole lot of sense - but there is some method to the madness I imagine.

Maybe trying adding a day onto the tail end of that first week and just pushing it out day by day to see how many it will allow.
 
I would play around with the dates also. It could be one or two dates on either end of that first week that is messing things up. The Christmas parade taping is scheduled for 11/30 - 12/1 at magic Kingdom. Maybe that has something to do with it. :confused3
 
You can book for the 2 weeks, then cancel the days you do not need. It is ridiculous that they do that. It happens all the time.
 

Santa and aaarcher - Neither of those reasons could be possible since I am booking the exact same days. Either those days are available or they are not. Not sure what the issue was :confused3

KimIce - good idea, i'll keep it in mind for next time. As it is, I forgot to book so now we are looking at going with no discount at all if we want to go before the new year :scared1:
 
I have had the same problem making a rack rate reservation. I needed one night before my package started. I checked online and by calling and one night was not available. I checked online and by phone using the day that was not available as the first day of a week reservation and the room was available. I was very confused and upset. I finally talked with guest relations after phone reservations was not able to help. They had to do some work, but eventually it did work and they were able to help. Keep trying!
