We are considering a spur of the moment trip in November. We played around with all of the weeks and the site tells us all rooms are booked every week? Is this a glitch or are they really that busy?

Never mind, just saw post below. Good grief. I thought this was a lower attendance time even with all that going on.

It might not be that everything is booked, it might be that the resorts do not have the full time frame of your stay available at any resort. Try breaking down to a couple days at a time to see what availability shows up. One resort may be booked up only on your first night while another resort may not have any availability on your 3rd night.

I would actually suggest calling in this case as a CM might have some availability to see more than the website shows.

you played with ALL of the weeks?
i know thanksgiving week still has plenty of availability and the fall room rate discount is even going on during that week.
the other weeks in november have booked quickly due to the free dining and room rate discounts both taking place during the same time.

I stayed at POR last November, and was shocked at how crowded it was down there -- the concierge told me that they had been completely booked for two weeks straight.

I miss the days of slow crowds in November and early December.

Park attendance and room availability do not go hand in hand. I know it sound weird, but its true. What happens in the off season, and especially with free dining and similar discounts, its not so much that people decide to go to WDW rather than go no where else... its more a function of if going to WDW they stay on property vs staying off property.

So the resorts are full, but the parks are not, because the local hotels are significantly emptier than during other times. or the % of people visiting the parks that are staying on property is a lot higher during the off season. Discounts don't fill the parks, they fill the resorts.

The extension of the F&W festival and free dining...........have done away with that. Its still not the summer time crowds but its not as light as some would hope.

If you don't mind renting points there are a couple of reservations up for grabs on a certain dvc rental site under the specials tab.

ETA: removed the link, didn't know it wasn't allowed
