Is the ground floor a good choice - I don't care about the view. Also have those rooms been refurnished?

I've never stayed on the ground floor, so I can't help you there; however, I was told by the manager of the Swan/Dolphin that all of the renovations are complete at the Swan. This statement is incongruous with other posts stating that the beds have yet to be changed on the upper floors, but since your question concerns the bottom floor, I would feel confident in saying that bottom floor are renovated.

When are you going?

Wow! That's just around the corner:D We're not going until the 1st of June....can you sense my jealousy?:p

I know it's not fair. I would love to be going in March. jaygatz-it seems we will be there at the same time. Swan here I come!

We just returned from 4 nights at the swan. We had a renovated room on the 6th floor. We were able to upgrade to club level, and the front desk person told us that we had the best of both worlds because the 12th floor hadn't been renovated yet. He said the renovations had started at the bottom, and they were working their way up. The rooms were very nice. We loved the wonderful pillows, but the heavenly beds were a bit soft for our taste - we sleep on a very firm mattress at home.
