We have a trip planned for the first week of June for DD's 14th birthday. We have a 2-bedroom at BWV (home) for the first 3 nights followed by 3 nights at OKW. I am losing hope that the waitlist will come through for the BWV, so I need suggestions for what buildings will be better for a small group of teenage girls at OKW. I was thinking perhaps 62-64(newer), but are they close enough to the pool? We would need non-smoking(1 child has asthma), not noisy(spent 1 trip next to a bus stop...never again!), good view from balconies, etc. Also, the girls may want to take the boat to DD the night we check into OKW. Is it safe enough for 5-6 girls to go alone, or should I make them ride with us in the van? Lastly, I need dinner suggestions. The girls will be responsible for their own lunch in the parks each day, but we will provide breakfast and dinner. I am not too concerned about breakfast(have electric skillet-will travel), but dinner for so many different tastes may be hard. We are doing Beaches and Cream 1 night while at the BW, O'hana's 1 night(DD's favorite), spaghetti in the room with Olive Garden Salad, take-out pizza in the room, and probably a counter service at MGM before Fantasmic 1 night. What to do for 1 last night? Can we grill steaks or hamburgers near the pool 1 evening? If the girls decide to do pizza a 2nd time, who could deliver to us at OKW? I hope this is not too much to ask at once! Thanks.

Can't help with the rest of it, but I CAN help with the room suggestion. We were just at OKW in a two-bedroom last week and it was PERFECT! We were in room 6223. It's a dedicated two-bedroom on the second floor of building 62. It is about 2/3 of the way down the building. It's right across the road from the main house and pool - easy walking distance. The view was right in the middle of a huge pond with a fountain and there was a green off to one side. GORGEOUS view! We were there for five days and never heard our neighbors unless we were all out on our porches. I would highly recommend the location!

We have Pizza Hut deliver once when we are OKW for the week. The info is in the phone book.

I agree with Bldg 62. It has a great view of the water that runs into the Trumbo Canal. It is very close to the Hospitality House and main pool. The Trumbo Ferry only holds about 11-13 people at one time and the boat drivers are very nice. Your girls should have no problem riding the ferry to DD. When we were there, the hours were 12 Noon until 9:40P.

There are barbeque grills near the pool, but I can't tell you exactly where they are.

They did have pizza delivery from Port Orleans a while back, but we had a hard time contacting them when we were there at Easter time. Sassagoula Pizza Express has good pizza, if you can get hold of them. They did deliver to OKW in the past. Maybe in June they will be operating again. I know Domino's delivers to OKW.

There are also surrey bikes to rent at OKW and you don't have any big hills to ride over. You can ride all over the property which is a pretty nice ride. They were less expensive at OKW than at the BW.

Olivia's has some good meals if you want to eat at OKW.

They also plan some activities at OKW that you might want to check out with the girls. They did tie-dye T-shirts twice a week while we were there. They also had a fishin' cruise twice during the week. They do hair braiding at the main pool, too, if your girls are interested.

You're not that far from Typhoon Lagoon when you stay at OKW. We love TL.

On our last trip, we were in building 14 which was quiet and just across the way from the HH. It was quiet and had a decent view of the golf course.
I would allow a group of 14 year olds to ride the boat to DD. Just make them STICK TOGETHER (you can tell I have girls) at DD.
There are grills near the neighborhood pools but I would try Olivia's. There is a pretty good menu with lots of selections.
Finally, call the front desk, they will tell you who will deliver pizza, etc.
Have a great time.

If you go the grill option (which is something that we enjoy doing), be sure to purchase a bag of charcol at the store when shopping.

I don't think I realized you could take a boat from OKW to DD - can you?
