I am in the process of working with Merrie from DU for our very first land/sea vacation in April 05.

I was quoted a rate for a Cat. 9 Room 2110.

Since it is on Deck 2 is there alot of motion when sailing? We've never cruised before and I don't know if being on a cruise is going to make me naseous or not . . .

We were on deck 2, cat.9 (2554) on our last cruise. I loved the location. People actually say the lower the deck the better, as far as motion is concerned. I get motion sickness no matter where I am though. I was nauseous the first night, before dinner. I took SeaCalm (they give it out on the ship - same as Bonine) and felt much better. My only problem was I couldn't drink alcohol when I took the SeaCalm because it put me right to sleep. Next time I'm packing non-drowsy Dramamine.

Last Feb we were on 2105 cat # 10. We loved it. We feel a little bit of motion the first night but the whole ship was rocking....

We loved the place.

We stayed in Room 2110 on our February cruise (those are my pictures that Tera gave you a link to!). We loved the location and did not feel a lot of motion except for the last night when there were 20 foot waves. Even then, the motion was just a rocking motion and we were sleeping so it wasn't a problem.

My only comment about the room was that the railing for the bed that came out of the ceiling would rattle, especially when the ship was coming in to port. It took us a couple days to figure out where the noise was coming from! It was loud enough to be annoying! We put a towel between the railing and the mattress and finally got rid of the noise.

Have a wonderful time on your cruise!

Very cool! It was nice seeing what my actual room will be. I really didn't expect the window to be so large and I really like the ledge underneath it.

How sturdy was that top bed? That's where DS 11 will be and DD 15 has already voiced a concern about it coming off the wall.:earseek:

I really liked the fact that I can close off the kids from us with the privacy curtain. Was the bathroom area really tight?

Thanks for all your help everyone!

Wish Upon A Star,

My DD 12 slept on the bunk bed and it was very sturdy. I think the weight limit is 250 lbs.

The privacy curtain was nice but not sound-proof. :teeth:

The bathroom area wasn't that tight because of the split bathrooms. That helped a lot since the shower was in one room and the toilet was in the other with a sink in both rooms. It was especially helpful with my DD 12 who takes forever to get ready and won't share a bathroom with anyone due to her modesty!

You will like Room 2110!
