Roof repair cost

I live in east ga almost sc if that matters. My roof is about 8 years on. 20 year shingles. The leak is around my chimney. The plywood is rotten about 3-4 square feet total of rotted blywood around the chimney. There does not appear to be any drywall or ceiling damage. What should I expect to pay to fix this? Just want a general idea so I know the estimates I get are reasonable. Thanks

We had the same issue a few years ago. We live in metro Atlanta, and when we had that huge rainstorm a few years back, it caused a leak around our chimney. We had several roofers come out, and they all said that the flashing around the chimney needed to be redone, in addition to the plywood/shingle repairs. We didn't get an estimate less than $1000, if I recall.

It will depend on your area. What one person pays will be different. The best thing is to get several estimates from reputable roofers and go from there.

I hate to suggest/admit it....but I had some roof work donw a few years ago and I used Angies list.

I had my roof replaced about 8 years ago. I got 3 quotes the quotes they gave me ran from 6 thousand to 30 thousand (yikes !) I went for the lower quote and my roof came out fine. Whatever you do, try to get a few quotes and then check their names with the BBB

The guy I always see in my neighborhood doing roofs quoted me 550 (this included a bit of a military discount) this includes replacing rotten wood, shingles, flashing, and a tiny siding repair. Thanks for those that responded.
