Ron Jons

It is a time share, but they do rental only reservations. I asked specifically if I could rent a room without having to sit through a sales pitch and they said yes. If you have AAA make sure to ask for the discounted rate. I have NOT stayed there - only researched it. But decided to save the extra $75 to spend onboard the Wonder :) . We would have only had 1 day there and it did not seem worth it. Now if we were going to be there for longer, I might have considered it. :)
How long did it take you get from Ron Jon's to Port? What rate did you get after the AAA discount? I have AAA and will get a price quote with it, too.

Thanks for the info!

Sorry, I have not stayed there so I don't know how far it is to the port, but I think it is quite close. Only priced it out as an option for our upcoming cruise. AAA discount is 10% I think. I seem to recall price for studio was $150 normal and $135 AAA.

After a day at the beach this summer-CoCoa Bch(we went to see shuttle, but it was cancelled), we were approached by a very nice gentleman who wanted us to tour Ron Jon's time share. We were not interested, but he gave us a coupon for 10 or 15 % off of food at the restaurant. so we went.

The kids liked the place. It had a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was very good-great soup and crab cakes-delicious.
It was dark so I could not view the beach access. Got a peek at the rooms -seemed nice. we thought we would try it if we ever came back. It is VERY close to the ships.

We have a 2 bdrm unit booked in sept. Price was $237.60 with AAA discount. We have a family of 4 and then my parents are also going, so total of 6 people. Splitting the room with my parents its only $118.80 each, which I didn't think was too bad.

:sad2: We stayed at Ron Jon's the night before our cruise. We shared a 2-bedroom suite with my DB and his family. The suite was roomy enough to accomodate both families. There was also a washer & dryer in the suite for any last minute laundry. Ron Jon's is approximately 10 minutes from DCL...great location. The numerous pools and water activities would make it an ideal location to stay. But my problem with the resort was that the bedrooms felt like saunas! Even with the ceiling fans the rooms were unbareably hot! And at $360 for 1 night...I don't think we will be staying there any more. :sad2:
