Ron Jon's near the port.... need directions!

I need some SafeSea and will be in port early enough to pick up some at Ron Jon's (that's where I heard to pick it up at). Does anyone have directions? Is it close to the port? Is there a grocery store close to Ron Jon's to pick up some items too?

The easier answer is this, you simply stay on the road you're taking over to the port(if you're coming from Orlando), it turns south and Ron Jon's can't be missed a couple of miles south on the left. And there's at least 2 good grocers(Winn-Dixie, Publix) and a number of drugstores that have good selection right along the same road. It's kind of like main street for Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach. But Dave's map does show all that quite nicely.

We were at Ron Jons the friday before our May 10th cruise. They didn't have SafeSea. It took talking to several different people to find someone who knew what it was, and then he looked for us, and said that they were out. He was very nice, and said to try the drug stores just across the street. We did, no SafeSea. They didn't know what it way, so my husband gave up.

We were fine, swam at 7 mile beach, Mr. Sanchos, and Castaway Cay. Had No Problems at all!!! If you can't find it, don't panic(like I did, I was sure we would need it), just rinse off after swimming. All of the places we were at had showers very close!

Ron Jons had lots of it last year- over by the side entrance near the dive/surf dept. With & without sunscreen. The guy in the dive shop who checked us out said he loved the stuff. Apparently, jelly fish can be a problem for surfers down there.

Maybe you can call them to see if they got some in before you go.

A note - the dive shop is a separate building next door(north) to the main building. The people in main building didn't even know what it was when we asked last time. But they did then have some in the main store on the shelves with the suntan products.

Silly question. What type of store is Ron Jon's? We will be in Port the day before our sailing and have some time to kill. Is it a good place to shop with kids (6 & 9)?

Carole, Ron Jon's is a surfing store and a whole lot more. It's a must see in Cocoa Beach. The kids will love it. Be prepared to spend hours in there and the kids will think they need everything cause there's lots of stuff you typically don't see at home unless you live by the ocean. Have fun!
