Romantic restaurant

Romantic restaurant ...at Downtown Orlando, not Downtown Disney. I'm looking for recommendations for DW's birthday . We are going to Universal Orlando (blasphemy) for 2 days before the PGA Show. Staying at Hardrock!
Please help, oh dis-boarders of great knowledge and wisdom!

I never leave WDW.....I know one of those, but I have eaten at Emeril's on one trip when we ventured over. The food was great, not sure I would say romantic though, hopefully someone else can come up with better suggestions...

OK, I'm confused. You're staying at Universal, but want a restaurant in Downtown Orlando? Or do you mean the Universal area?

Dux at the Peabody has incredible food and service and a romantic atmosphere.

Emerils at City Walk has superb food, although not the most romantic atmosphere.

There's a restaurant at Portofino Bay Hotel that's supposed to be very good, but I haven't eaten there.

It might help if you were clearer on what area you actually want to dine in, and if you'll have a car.

We are staying at Hard Rock Hotel. We will have a car, and I would be willing to travel. Anywhere with 30 minutes would be fine!

Absolutely, Dux at teh Peabody--make reservations well in advance (like in NOW).

Dux looks great, but I forgot to mention that my DW is a "selective eater" Cappriccio is more her style, where she can identify most of the ingredients.

Cappricio is amazing as well. We had Thanksgiving there last year.

BTW--I was born in Hartford and spent my first five years in Manchester.

I know this is doesn't answer your question but since you will be at Universal, you absolutely must go to Mythos - fantastic!!! and a really unique atmosphere - we ate there a couple of times this past October. We also stayed at the Portofino but didn't check out all the restaurants...
