I was just thinking that it would be nice to have a romantic picnic with my new husband during our Disneymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to go for this? We were thinking about renting a boat, and having the picnic on the lake. Are there any other locations?

Thanks for the help! :thumbsup2

Renting a boat would be a wonderful idea!! Grand1 or a pontoon boat. :cloud9: If you wanted something more traditional - there are lots of places in the resorts that would be nice - on the beach or in a hammock at the Poly with a nice view of Cindy's castle comes to mind......

Awwww that is such a cute idea!!!! I just love picnics :lovestruc and I just love the idea of Cinderella's castle in the background...hmm i may have to mention this idea to my boyfriend.

I would also recommend the beach at the poly. right under sunset pointe there is a semi private area with palm trees and a view of the castle. If you do it in the evening you can see the fireworks as well...very romantic. This is where my dh2b proposed to me! It is equally stunning during the day i have a pic if you want to see the spot.

here is one pic:

We roamed around Grand Floridian, taking it all in, even though we weren't staying there. We chose a grassy bank, back by the lake, plopped down our blanket, had our picnic, and watched the fireworks over the castle. More private, but now that I know there are alligators in there, I'd be careful, especially in the dark!

The beach by the poly is great too.

ooh, romantic..
If I were to do that I would hire the luxurious Grand one yacht. I think it was like $400 an hour that we were quoted, but beautiful.

 Thanks for all the ideas about locations everyone! Now I'm wondering where to get the food for our picnic, and what to get. I think definately wine, and wine...any other ideas? Do you think the concierge would be able to help us?

Go through Private Dining at your resort; they will be able to set you up with something nice.
Cheers!

Is "private dining" another word for room service? :) Thanks for your suggestion!
