I posted this under DVC, but I thought I'd try for some suggestions here too:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My husband and I will be going to SSR for a long weekend for our 10th anniversery. This is a total spur of the moment thing (without the kids, for the first time anywhere -ever!). We will be going back to Disney 3 weeks later with the kids for our usual yearly pilgrimage! I am looking for some suggestions for this alone time with the hubby.

1) What is the most romantic place for dinner? Does not have to be super fancy, just wonderfully magical!

2) Has anyone done the Keys to the Kingdom tour? Does it spoil the "magic" at all? Since this is our only chance to be in Disney without the kids, I thought it might be interesting!

3) Any other ideas?

Thanks everyone!

Congrats on your anniversary and have a wonderful time!! We did Keys to the Kingdom while on our honeymoon last Fall and LOVED it....it did not spoil the magic at all. Very informative and interesting. As for a restaurant, nothing beats V & A but if you're not looking to spend that much we loved Le Cellier. Have fun!!

KTTK tour can spoil the magic if you or anyone in your party has never been. but it sounds as if y'all are veterans. it is a very enjoyable tour. as far as a wonderful dining experience, we have enjoyed many a meal at jiko at AKL, artist point at WL, hollywood brown derby, the floridian cafe at the GF is nice. california grill at the contemp planned around fireworks if possible. yachtsman steakhouse at the yacht club is where we will be celebrating our anniversary this year. how about a carriage ride at FW? that would be nice. hope this helps and happy anniversary! :earboy2:

We did the same thing for our 20th anniversary a few years ago!

The Keys to the Kingdom tour is wonderful--it only enhances the magic, and makes you feel even more of a Disney "insider".

We went to the Yachtsman for our anniversary, but weren't particularly pleased with it. Next time we would probably chose CG or LeCellier. For sheer romance, its hard to beat San Angels--dinner by "moonlight" under the pyramid, but unfortunately the menu isn't too romantic!

Hope you have a great trip!

1. they do a special anniversary table & gift at cinderella' royal table in the magic kingdom. which is romantic & special. make sure to request when making your ps. another would be california grill at the contemporary during the magic kingdom fireworks, good food & a panaromic view of the castle & seven seas lagoon. or a private dinner on a specialty cruise through grand floridian private dining.

2. i did the backstage magic tour years ago with my mom which was a behind the scenes tour of wdw, which was real interesting. me & my fiance have done the dolphins in depth at epcot & backstage safari at animal kingdom tours which were amazing experiences, i highly recommend a wdw tour!

3. they have a couples spa treatment that is very romantic & relaxing, we did this at the grand floridian, i'm sure they offer a similier package at ssr. epcot & the boardwalk resort is magical for enjoying a romantic evening stroll, dining & entertainment.

have a great time on your wdw anniversary trip! and congrats on your years together!

San Angel Inn is one of our favorite places to eat. Dining by candle light in "Mexico" at twilight with a smoldering volcano in the background and one lonely star twinkling in the sky? VERY romantic. :love2:
