My inlaws are going to take the kids over for an evening so that the Husband and I can sneak off for a grown up dinner. We'll be celebrating our 2nd anniversary! :)

Where would you go for a romantic dinner for two? We aren't "dress up" people so no place TOO fancy. We have the park hopper so we can go anywhere for dinner.

I'd love to hear suggestions! At first this started because the Husband wanted Italian, so we thought of Mama's, but now he says he just wants us to go for GOOD food for grown-ups.. (Maybe the steakhouse? Help I'm lost!)

If you like Mexican Food, I would suggest San Angel Inn in the Mexican Pavilion at EPCOT. It is very romantic with candlelight dining by the river, and the strolling musicians.

What fun! We are going to the Yachtsman Steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary. The kids are going to the Sandcastle Club in BC. Have fun wherever you decide to go!

You can also try the Maya Grill located at Coronado Springs. It's not really a "dress up" restaurant and after dinner you can stroll through the paths with the fountains, etc.

We were thinking about L' Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante, so he could have Italian AND say he took me to Rome, but I hear it's not that wonderful?

IMO, best Italian is at Il Mulino at the Swan. Others like Tutto Italia at EPCOT. Do you think you'd like to eat in a park or at a resort? That completely changes the game plan depending on the answer. The only place that is really "TOO fancy" is Victoria & Albert's. California Grill at fireworks time is always nice, but it is a little noisy and doesn't always feel "romantic" because it is a louder, more hectic place. I like Narcoossee's, although Ithink bluezoo at the Dolphin is better seafood. If you can give us a little more direction on what you are hoping for, it would be easier to suggest. There are lots of places to pick from - it is so hard to choose just one! :)

We're looking for a place that isn't too noisy or crowded (by Disney standards) with a sit-down meal with server.

We like Italian and steak-houses. Husband really enjoys chicken and seafood.

I would really consider the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin then (assuming you are not on the dining plan). Shula's is a great steakhouse, bluezoo is outstanding seafood, Il Mulino is great Italian and all three places are beautiful, lower key restaurants - definitely quieter by Disney standards. Plus you can stroll the Boardwalk after dinner which can be a really romantic time.

We're on the dining plan but this will most likely be an "extra" anyway. I'm sure we won't have a problem using up the dining credits even with deluxe with our big group!

Thanks, I can't wait for the Husband to get back from picking up our daughter so we can look over the menus (I'm starting to think the dining is my favorite part of the trip now, lol!)

I'd vote for the California Grill. A window table at fireworks time is hard to beat. :thumbsup2

I LOVE planning our dining experiences - we are trying accomplish the goal of eating everywhere at least once, but we always want to go back to our favorites - that list currently includes Il Mulino, bluezoo, Boma, The Wave breakfast, and some others. I keep a spreadsheet with the times, ressies, and EMHs of the parks. I hope you find a great place!

Also, as part of the "What Will You Celebrate" promotion this year, they are offering the Sweetheart Dinner for two at select restaurants:

Sweetheart Dinner for Two
Dining ExtrasSpecial Experiences
For those in love and romantics at heart, our Sweetheart Dinners are the ideal way to put the thrill and happy sentiment into any special occasion. Our Sweetheart Dinners are meticulously prepared three-course prix fixe meals for two. What's more, a specially selected beverage in a souvenir toasting glass commemorates the moment. Available at all signature restaurants except Victoria & Albert's.

I agree with Mickey Man. Not only are the restaurants that are not on the dining plan generally quieter, they have better food.

I'm going to add Bistro de Paris at Epcot to this list also. Bu if you want Italian, then I'd definitely go with Il Mulino.

Love the reccs, keep 'em coming!

Any ideas for prime rib? The best I've ever had is CRT, is it better somewhere else?

i recommend tokyo dining. it was mostly adults when we went because all the families with kids go to teppan edo for the entertainment aspect. if you can get a table by the window, you'll have beautiful views of epcot. service is very unrushed and outstanding and the food is amazing. definitely the most romantic meal i have had at epcot.

1) With the advent of DDP, romantic eateries are far and few between.
. . . too many kids do not know how to act a finer eateries
. . . too many adults do not know how to act at finer eateries
2) I would recommend
. . . Bistro de Paris - no kids menu, and not on DDP
. . . Shula's - too expensive to take kids
. . . Citricos - usually overlooked by families with kids

NOTE: For reasons above, plus for food quality, we only eat at five WDW sit-down eateries, and only two mare owned by Disney.

We celebrated our 25th at the Yachtsman and had a wonderful meal and a wonderful evening. GREAT steaks - I have had the porterhouse and the cowboy ribeye. Bother were excellant cuts and cooked perfectly.

If they have the fall root vegetables as a side, GET THEM! they were so good.

The yachtsman is just a short stroll from Epcot, end your evening with Illuminations and your favorite drink from the World Showcase.

Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary!:bride:

I'd recommend Shula's or Il Mulino for quiet steakhouse/italian options. You should also consider Bistro de Paris. This is usually quiet, there are good seafood and beef options, you have a great view. Probably the best kid-free night at Disney other than Victoria and Albert's, which is a little up tight.

Another option is room service. I'll leave the details to you.
