Romantic dinner: CG, Citrico's or Narcosse's

They are all very good.:thumbsup2 We were on the Plat Plan:thumbsup2 Actually we just did them all back in April for our 25th Ann.
If you need to pick only one then I would have to go with Cali Grill.
The food the atmosphere & the view. :worship: In my opinion.
Have a nice dinner :)

Citricos. We have always had well prepared, delicious dinners there. Try the gateau of crab appetizer- WOW! :goodvibes

Although I think the food and view at Ca Grill are the best of these 3, I would pick Citricos for most romantic and my reason for this choice is that CG and Narcoosees tend to be a lot noisier which I do not find romantic at all.

Every time we have been to CG it has been extremely noisey... no matter the day or time. We've had one or two quiet meals at Narcoossee's. But I have to agree with Citrico's as the best place for a romantic meal. It's been the quietest, most "adult" atmosphere we've had. DH and I have always enjoyed the food there... I don't think the meals are of inferior quality as compared to CG. But that's just my opinion.

The service at Citricos will make you feel like you're the only couple in the room.

I haven't eaten at Citricos, but have the other two. I like the atmosphere at Narcoosee's and if you like Filet Mignon, their's is wonderful. Hubby and I have an ADR there next week for our 13th anniversary.

I've eaten at all three.

I would choose either CG or Citricos.

They both have wonderful food and servers. Citricos is less crowded.

If I had to choose, though, I would pick CG. I have always had wonderful meals there, and seeing the sunset is just lovely.

Good luck choosing! Remember, no matter which you pick, just go, relax and enjoy yourselves!!!

I've been to all 3 multiple times and I completely agree with this :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful dinner :cloud9:

I would go with Citrico's. Narcoossee's and CG both seemed to have a lot of families and both seemed noisier to me. Citrico's didn't have the tables crowded together, it had more couples (rather than families), and was generally less crowded. The food & service was wonderful!

Another vote for Citricos.

I have eaten there many times. I have never found fault with food or service there. To me it is the most romantic of the three. It is elegant, and the food fantastic. I fondly remember a romantic dinner I had there. My DP suprised me with trip to WDW and brought me there for dinner knowing it was one of my favorites. It was a night to remember. 3+ years later and I can still remember what I ate.

I love CG. I eat there every chance I can. Love the food. I personally prefer sitting in the wine room. CG has a nice view. But it is loud and can have mis-behaving children and parents who think it is funny. That does not reflect a romantic dinner to me. Also at CG depending on the time of your ADR, you may experience a delay in being seated due to those that linger in hopes of catching Wishes.

I am not a Narcossees fan. I have tried it on three occasions and on all three I didn't experience a top notch dining experience.

You are likely to receive a plethora of opinions on this one.

DW and I have eaten at all three many times, and I think that the key to your question is that you want a "romantic" dinner.

CG is certainly an excellent restaurant, with excellent food and a fantastic view (ask for Gary K. the waiter - from Hawaii. Top notch all the way). It does provide a great view of the MK fireworks from the observation deck, and it does have that "special" feel to it, but I wouldn't call it "romantic." It tends to be a bit loud, a lot of hustle and bustle, noises and conversation from the open kitchen...and pretty crowded.

Citricos is very nice, but nothing special or romantic. You will not be disappointed in the food (although it's less "wow" than the other two under consideration), but since it's on the main floor of the GF, you are more likely to have families and more small children (probably not quite the "romantic" setting).

Which is why I would vote for Narcoosee's. First, it's away from the crowds and located in its own, separate building. You can enjoy a nice romantic walk through the GF grounds to get there, it's right on the water, it's quiet(er) than the other two, and the food can be downright fantastic (all the fish selections are very fresh and the steaks, we have found, are sometimes overlooked but are as good as those at Le Cellier or Yachtsman's). Plus, you can relax after dinner on the porch by the water with a cordial or glass of port and watch the Electrical Water Pageant and/or the MK fireworks or simply watch the Disney boats making their way across the lake. We think it's a real hidden gem, and the most romantic of the three you mentioned.

In any event, you cannot go wrong with any of your choices because each of these three restaurants is special in its own way. Enjoy!

Looks like you've received lots of great comments and recommendations on your three listed choices... May I recommend one you do not have listed?

If it is within your budget I would choose Victoria & Albert's. My wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary there in 2002. It was one of the most memorable meals I have ever had. The restaurant was easily in the top dozen or so I have ever visited - we're not talking just WDW good but world class restaurants good, comparable with places like Aqua or the Fifth Floor in San Francisco.

We were one of only 3 tables seated and they do not allow children under 10. They presented us a personalized menu which we still have. The smallish restuarant is very quiet with soft live music (a harpist on the night we visited), attentive yet unrushed service, luxurious decor, linens and tablewear, soft mood lighting and food to die for. Very romantic. If you go be sure to order after dinner coffee, the contraption which they use to brew it at your table is amazing.

Citrico's is the quietest of the three if that's a consideration. And the food is better at CG and Citrico's than Narcoossee's.

Wanted to add that the tables and chairs at Citrico's are more comfy and spacious...If you decide on Citrico's, request a table in the window in the back, around the corner of the restaurant.

If you're looking for an early romantic dinner, I would recommend Citrico's. I took my, then fiancee now wife, there for dinner at 5:30pm and after dinner we caught the late showing of Cirque. If you're looking for a romantic late evening dinner, definatly CG. I would get a reservation for about 1-2 hours before Wishes. You get a great view from your table and they dim the lights and play the music inside the restaurant. I've eaten at both and they were both very good. I hope this helps you out! Enjoy!

What do People think of BISTRO DE PARIS? We are looking for Valentines Day 2009.. We have been trying since 90 days out to get something and everything seems taken (We are 37th on the waiting list at Victoria & Albert's and that was calling 90 days out!) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated ....

Which would you choose for a romantic dinner and why?

I know it's extremely presumptuous of me, but I made reservations for DBF and myself for California Grill (without my kids) because I'm hoping he'll pop the question there! LOL!
Disney is our anniversary place, and this will be our 4th year going (we've been dating 5 years).
He took me ring shopping a couple weeks ago to "get an idea" of what I want, and we both agreed I didn't want a ring for Valentine's Day, so I'm crossing my fingers that I get it in March while we're on vacation!

So my ADR for California Grill was by choice to give him the opportunity of a romantic setting :rotfl2:
