Hi All,
I am starting to think about planning a vacation for myself and my boyfriend for early 2016 (thinking March). We have yet to take a romantic, relaxing vacation together and are really looking forward to being able to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions of awesome all-inclusive destinations? We are based in New England. I am not committed to any place or country. I have stayed in a couple of all-inclusive Iberostar hotels in Mexico on Playa del Carmen.

I'd like to keep costs to about $5,000-$6,000 for hotel and flights and thinking about 5 or 6 nights.
A whirlpool tub or jacuzzi in the room or on a porch would seal the deal :thumbsup2

Thanks for any suggestions!

We did Bahamas & Punta Cana. Liked both but would do Punta Cana all over. It was beautiful, we had an on the beach room. We stayed at RIU Palace Macao on Arena Gorda beach - all inclusives.

We stayed at Now Amber (Puerto Vallarta) in June last year and Now Jade (Riviera Maya) in November last year, both rooms had jacuzzis on the balcony. However we stayed in the preferred section so I think that jacuzzi was an upgrade for that. The equivalent of adults-only for those chains are Secrets resorts, so Secrets Vallarta etc. They are fabulous resorts!!

All-Inclusives are not all that common outside of Mexico/Caribbean. We've been to the Cancun area and it's ok if you like Mexico. We stayed at the Moon Palace for one trip, I would not recommend that unless they have cleaned up the beaches and done a major overhaul. They did have Jacuzzi's in the rooms though.

I am going to check out Secrets resorts! Thanks for the tip. LOVE that there was a Jacuzzi...would be worth an upgrade!

DH and I loved Live Aqua in Cancun...adults-only, all inclusive. It has a spa feel and is right on the strip across from La Isla Mall and near clubs if that is your sort of thing. Resort restaurants were great and grounds lovely. We are headed to The Excellence Riviera Cancun for our 20th anniversary, also AO/AI. It has gotten great reviews, so I hope it is as amazing as it looks.

Check out the Sandals resorts. All inclusive and no children. DH and I just got back from Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica and loved it! We're going back to a Sandals again next year, but in St. Lucia.

The other place we've been that we just loved was Young Island Resort. www.youngisland.com The island is the resort. It's off the coast of St. Vince (British West Indies). It's still the best vacation we've ever taken.

Secrets Maroma Beach ( Riviera Maya in Mexico) is my favorite resort - adults only mostly couples -been there 4 times and hope to go back in October

My DF and I just got back last month from Isla Mujeres. It has a more laid back feel than Cancun and we both decided we would love to move there one day.

While it wasn't a romantic vacation but a sweet 16 trip my daughter and I took to Cancun last year. However, it was an all inclusive resort by the name of Now Sapphire. I could easily see how it could be a romantic vacation for a couple. Like a previous poster said there are jacuzzi on the balconies and the beaches are absolutely beautiful. My sister and brother-in-law went to a Now resort in Punta Cana two summer's ago and have been trying to get back ever since. They even had one of those private romantic dinner set ups on the beach at sunset. My brother-in-law set it all up and many of the resort staffers where in on how to surprise my sister with everything. I remember him saying that they were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure everything was executed perfectly.

We have been to Secrets Maroma Beach.
VERY NICE!!!! (lucked up on a very rare incredible promo rate)
We had a walk-out patio on the semi-private swimout pools.
I hear that the hot-tub thing on the little verandah of the more expensive preferred units is way over-rated. Not that great, do not work well, and staff must prepare and heat them beforehand???
If I am rememberingThere are a few nice walkout units that are like beach-front.
Don't know if these would be beyond your budget. But if I could snag one of those, that might be extraordinary. There are people on the TripAdvisor boards for this area who know all about this resort, and can give you the specifics as to which exact rooms/categories this would be.

I know of somebody who really really likes Couples Negril, if I am remembering right.
They like the finer things, like Le Blanc at Cancun, but there is something about this resort at Negril Jamaica that they just love.

I also considered Le Blanc in Cancun.
Seems SO nice, but wonder if it is just TOO upscale/quiet/exclusive for me?

There is Secrets 'The Vine' in Cancun.
But, that is a huge high-rise on a postage stamp sized footprint.
WAY to 'cruise ship' for me.

We visited Isla Mujeres and had a WONDERFUL day!
There are a lot of Isla-holics!
But, be aware that this is more quaint/rustic destination.

DW and I spent our 25th at Live Aqua. We really enjoyed the laid-back, spa feel:

Secrets, Huatulco.

I love the Huatulco area because the weather is 100% reliable in the winter months. It will be clear, sunny, with rarely even a cloud in the sky. It is unspoiled by massive developments (like Cancun). People are friendly. Airport is extremely easy to navigate (tiny with only a handful of gates). We landed at 10:15 and were AT our resort, in our room (i.e., through baggage claim, customs, immigration and the bus ride), by 11:30. Awesome. (Someone mentioned Negril above...beautiful area, but something like a 2.5 HOUR bus ride to the area from the airport. UGH. I remember hating that part of it.)

Secrets is beautiful. The ONLY hotel on their beach. And adults only. I picked out a random week in March and it came to $4800, including airfare for two adults.

Upgrade to a preferred suite with balcony jacuzzi is an extra $400.

I hate to disclose this, but Privilege Aluxes on Isla Mujeres, MX is very romantic. SHHH, don't tell anyone!

My boyfriend just surprised me with a trip to Couples in Jamaica for my 40th birthday in September  Their website has a ton of info and message boards. Keep us posted as to what you decide!
