I am thinking of booking this and had some questions... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it worth the price?
What is in the basket?
What is provided in champagne breakfast?
Do you get to schedule Palos and spa early or do you still have to fight to get aboard early to get reservations (which might be hard for us using disney transportation)?

Thanks!!!

We did it in August and I really felt it was worth the price! You can call Debbie at DCL in advance to book Palo and Spa ressies. The basket has a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates and a photo album. The basket itself is cute too! The breakfast, they give you a menu and you pick what you want. It is pretty standard breakfast items, nothing fancy. We ordered for ourselves and our kids too. I felt the early ressies were enough to make it worth the price!
Here is a link to my pictures, there is a picture of the basket: http://webshots.com/user/vickie4157

I second the Schultz family - I didn't care too much about getting the extras EXCEPT for the luxury of getting to pre-book my spa and Palo's dinner&brunch! I'm so glad I've got those set up!

Some people on these boards have said they wait til Disney contacts them to make their ressies - if you book REAS, don't wait! Call Debbie yourself (sorry; I don't have the # handy...).

Happy Planning!:wave2:

Hello!
OK:
1. I think it is worth the price for 2 reasons - the cost of the massages regularly and to have the ressies in order before you board
2. The basket had a bottle of Korbel, nice photo album, and small heart box of chocolates
3. Champagne breakfast offers the same as room service except they add hot items such as scrambled eggs and omlets, sausage, bacon, etc - FAIR WARNING we ordered omlets not aware that they came with sides like sausage and potatoes and ordered extra plates of sides since it is not listed that way on the card so check with them to see what each is offered with!
4. You can call Debbie ahead of time to schedule your Palo dinner, Palo brunch (if you are on 7 day) and couples massage at the spa (only that -all other spa appts have to be made on boarding day) plus request a dinner rotation if you like. She is wonderful!!!:)

My DH and I really enjoyed the REAS pkg. I thought it was well worth it! We will add it again in 2006 whenwe cruise again as long as they still offer it!

Hope this helps! If you search REAS you will find tons of posts on it - some with pics!

Is the champane chilled with the basket or warm:scratchin

I would be nice to go to our room and enjoy a glass!

They won't let me book just the sea portion since I am on a land/sea package. Its $599 for both which I wont use most of the land portion... I am really bummed now :(

DCL wouldn't let me book the REAS either! I'm 7 night land and sea too! Last time I cruised, I was able to book a simmilar package through DCL (no Champagne breakfast) for the cruise only portion.

They actually tried to talk me into the larger package...like I have time to do that stuff on land (its all about the parks, baby!)

...Besides, my golf game is embarrasing....at least I get my cardio running after the ball....200 yards into the ruff! (HAHA)

Any how.... I share your feelings....very bumbed out

We just recently went on the Aug 28th cruise. Our champagne was wrapped inside the basket. After we got to the room I asked our room hostess for glasses and ice and put the bottle in the fridge to start chilling it and they were brought to us almost immediately.

I have read on these boards that you can take the bottle to Palo's or the dining rooms during dinner and get it replaced with a cold bottle. You might want to ask someone to make sure this is true.

the romantic escape at sea is listed on the Disney cruise line web site and states that it can be added to any 3,4 and 7 night disney cruise
price $339

states: onboard you'll recieve romanitic gift delivered to your state room
couples massage
priority seating at Palo
Romance turn down
Champange breakfast in bed one morning
use code ESC
Good luck ..

Are they still trying to get away with that "Can't book the REAS for the Land/Sea" stuff!
You can book the REAS for the Land/Sea. I did. But I did have to fight for it.
The brochure that each Travel Agent distributes, clearly shows that the REAS is good for the Land/Sea. If you look at the asterisk next to the $299 price, it brings you down to the bottom of the page where it says that the price is good for the 3 Day Land 4 day Sea.
I had my TA contact their Disney Rep who was able to add it to my Land/Sea.
However, this is only true for 2004. The price has changed for 05, and perhaps the availability as well.
At $299, the price was worth it. At $399 it becomes iffy. The Spa treatments now cost $242. The Palos ressies are worth $20.
So, are the champagne, chocolates, album, ability to make reservations ahead of time, and breakfast in bed worth $137?
If I remember, the champagne was room temp, but each cabin has a fridge. You can bring it to Palos at no charge.

I just called Disney again!!! And they are saying there is no way to get that package... on a land/sea cruise. Help? TA that I could refer to?

I did the land and sea too and tried my TA and DCL and
there was no way they were going to do the REAS, maybe
because my trip is Jan. 05. Anyway I did the whole package
because my DH really wanted to do the La Nobia (spelling?)
show again and this time take DD. DD really wanted to do
the carriage ride and including the signature dinner (we chose
Yachtman steakhouse) the price is a good deal. I don't know
how "romantic" the land portion of our trip will be but I know we
will enjoy it and I am planning on a little romance at sea!

I too think you should be able to book just what you want,
Disney seems to have a lot of rules that make no sense
(dollars maybe but no sense).

Does anyone know if you can make the SPA reservations yet
for 2005 from Debbie. I have hated to call because I am sure
everyone is working overtime with all these storms but I do want
to book my spa day for our day at sea!

We just got back from the 9/9 Wonder and did the REAS. I would probably not do it again, but I am glad I did it this time. However, the pricing for the massages does not show up as the $242 mentioned - it showed up as $178 on our bill. They put it on, then took it back off (minus the diff of the tips we gave).

I am not into baskets, so that will probably go to Goodwill. Don't need the candy, and we forgot to take the darn champagne to Palos! Brought it home... The photo album is nice, but I'm not really into that, either! I guess I might print some of the photos this time out and put them in there, just to use it.

Also, we were one of the first on the ship, and it would have been very easy to make ressies at either Palos or the spa. However, I heard we had quite a few cancellations, so that may not be the case next time, but it's only Palos I will really be concerned about in the future, and I wouldn't care what day it was (although I would sort of hate to miss Parrot Cay). Wouldn't care what time, either, since we'll skip the shows next time.

JMHO, and YMMV

The Spa prices went up last April/May. It would have been $242 if you made your reservations when you boarded. If you have any doubts, do a search on this forum.
As for getting the REAS added for an 05 Land/Sea. Is the 05 brochure out yet? Compare the package page from the 04 brochure. If they still have the same asterisk next to the price with the same sentence at the bottom, then I would fight for it.

I booked it just to ease the anxiety of making Palo reservations. The massages are just a bonus.:D

Does anyone have Debbies number?

TIA!!

Who is Debbie and where can I get her number?

I have booked the REAS for the week of Thanksgiving, Western Cruise and would like to set up by massages and Palo reservations.

We're cruising 9/25/04 with the REAS package, booked with Debbie, who was extremely nice and helpful. I definitely feel that the package is worth the price if only for the convience of having reservations made in advance. Plus I enjoy having a package in the room to unwrap when I arrive, even if I paid for it.
