DH and I are going to DL for 2 days in October....JUST THE TWO OF US!
So....since we have never been there without our kids, I was wondering what sort of "romantic" things we can do there? Any suggestions would be really welcomed!

My DH and I go alot by ourselves.. at first i felt guilty.. shouldn't i be taking our grandkids.. shouldn't i invite my mom... then i just said, no...we have times with them and this is our time.:goodvibes

We like to sleep late.. go with the flow.. hold hands ...laugh on the train.. try different foods and share.. we take wine and cheeses to have in the room at night...and love to eat a napa rose. We try to see who gets the highest score on buzz... and snuggle close on peter pan... little things make the trip special.

Have the bestest time.:goodvibes

It's also fun to go to the wine country trattoria at night and have wine.. sit outside and watch the lights.

Share an ice cream sundae by the blue elephant.

Relax Relax Relax

DH and I like to go to Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD for dinner and lovely music.

Share a Matterhorn Sundae and a piece of apple pie a la mode (with whipped cream and strawberries too) at Carnation Cafe.....Have a caricature done of the two of you together in New Orleans Square, so you have something to take as a memento of that specific occasion....Have a candlelit meal at the Blue Bayou....Visit the lovely GCH lounge and sit with a beverage by the fireplace....

Just Go at your own pace and enjoy each other!
I would also reccomend lots of holding hands and hugs!
:)
Fancy dinners would also be perfect, maybe you could reserve the fantasmic dessert seats. since its just the two of you, you can maybe splurge this one time. :lovestruc

......

Yep.....share a plate of spaghetti.....you never know whose mouth might be at the other end of a long string of pasta. ;)

:lmao:

For a quiet and special meal, my wife and I like Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel. We went for our anniversary in April, and liked it so much that we returned for Mother's Day.

Also use the photopass and get pictures of the two of you together.

DH and I grew up with Disney. We met 4 years ago at WDW - btmrr and married 2 years ago. In our 50's we still love the magic of Disney.

3 years ago I introduced my Jim to DL and it's special magic.

Here are a few things we enjoy.....

Spend some time walking around the Grand Californian. They DO have a free tour too. Not only the lobby level - but upper levels and quiet places to enjoy the views of DL and CA.

Stop and enjoy the piano music in the lobby of the Grand Cali in the afternoons!

Take the pathway to the right of the Castle. When DL opened, a donor (who never came forward) gave Walt Disney the Snow White and her 7 friends. The statues are all the same size so Disney has displayed them at different levels to create an illusion of different sizes. Anyway.....

If you walk up to the fountain and listen....you will hear Snow White singing.

Print a Hidden Mickey list and spend the afternoon on....the hunt.

There is another thread here with "secrets of DL". We have a copy of that and will do a "hunt" one afternoon with friends the next time we visit.

Don't forget the Basin Store in DTD. They have lots of bath fizzies and soaps....always fun to ... "play" at the end of the day. The Basin Store is one of our FIRST stops!

One of our favorite things to do --- especially in the morning when people are arriving for the first time that day.....is to sit on a bench near the flag and people watch. Watch their faces when they finally look down Main Street to the castle for the first time. It's magic!

Ride the carosel! It always makes us smile to be among the wee-little people having so much fun!

Buy Balloons - balloons are silly!

You can visit the spa at the GCH
Go out one night to the house of blues
Drink some wine at DCA
Ride the carosel together
Make a wish in Snow White's fountain
Buy a keepsake of your trip

I like the balloon idea above esp "balloons are silly" so true!!

Don't sweat the small stuff and just enjoy your time together in the Happiest Place on Earth!!

Grab some refreshments at dusk and get a seat on the Mark Twain in front at the bow and enjoy a quiet ride around ROA.

Try a mint julep; back in the day when they were popular they sold them right on the fabled riverboat.

It might be fun to do a tour, just the two of you.
