I'm not asking for help, LOL, I'm already done. I love rolling coins for WDW.

I'm going to take them to the bank Monday. I remember last time I did this, the bank wanted something written on each roll. Can anyone tell me what it was? My name? My account #? That doesn't seem right--maybe it was my last name.

TIA

they are so picky with them rolls, last time I did it they wanted a small sperm sample

name address phone#

Well, PD, I ain't got none of that.:p

Name and number have to do.:) Thanks Jipsy and Mommytotwo.

Over all the years I've been rolling coins, every bank wanted the account number on the roll. They want to be able to debit your account if you've miscounted your coins. I've often wondered if they'd credit your account if you put in one too many;)

Ours used to want your account #, but now don't want anything at all on the wrappers. I cashed in a bunch of coins (about $300 worth) last month and after spending what seemed like forever putting my # on them, had to go through them all at the bank with a black marker. The teller said it was a recent policy change due to privacy issues. I guess they don't want your account # falling into the wrong hands on a roll of coins.

I never heard of rolling your own coins until I moved from IA to MI. We always just took our big jar in and they dumped them in the coin sorter/counter.

Our bank doesn't want anything written on them.

My bank wants your account number on them and will only take them 4 at a time....its not worth the trouble to me..I just take them to Coinstar and let them do the work.

I worked as a teller and our bank didnt want anything written on rolled coins. We never verified the coin amounts and used the customer's rolled coin as if it was accurate. (Unless a customer complained we shorted them on the rolled coin) We also took loose change but didnt advertise it. That sucked! LOL

Banks are CROOKED!!! You walk into the lobby and there is this HUGE sorter/counter that automatically PUTS the money INTO your account.... BUT... there is a CHARGE for this. I think that it is a percentage, however, a percentage of .50 is what? :p

Sounds like I'd better ask on Monday. Maybe I'll get lucky and they won't want anything on them!

JennLynn, never heard of rolling your own??? You must be way younger than me!:p Kroger's has one of those machines but charge a fee--not worth giving up any Mickey Money for! I watch a planning show and roll away!

I'm 27. :teeth:

When I told my Mom we have to roll our own coins in MI she thought it was really strange. Maybe it is a midwest thing?

My bank wants acct # on them. Did the coinstar thing once. When I saw it took over $20.00 of my money, I decided I would wrap my own. I do take my pennies to coinstar, but everything else gets wrapped. My bank doesn't put a limit on them either, which is good because I usually take anywhere from $100.00 to $200.00 at a time. We save all change as vacation money. I never pay with change, even give a full $ if the change amount to give is only 1 penny. It adds up very fast. Since the end of July I have saved almost $100.00 in coins alone.

Some banks want the account #, the bank I used to work for didn't..because we just gave all the rolls back out to customers and we didn't want them to get any customer info-so if anyone gave rolled coin with any info we blacked it all out with a Sharpie.

I have heard this phrase, but it wasn't about coins! ;)

I never use CoinStar. They take 6%!!! My bank does not charge to count coins. And Commerce Bank in the Phila area does not charge either and you DON'T have to be a customer.
