Ok, a long LONG time reader/listener here.....
Also a -used to doing my own thing/making my own decisions- kinda person/vacationer....:confused3

I have been planning this trip for almost 2 months, gone back and forth, (and back and forth and back and forth) about accommodations.
A family of 6, on a limited amount to spend on hotel, "splurging" if you can say that, instead, on things like airfare, food, park tickets, souveniers, etc....

My final, and kinda sorta well researched hotel is LIKI TIKI VILLAGE. I'm happy with my choice in that it has one of the better, more exciting pools I've seen available, good size unit with separate sleeping quarters for bigger kids, exciting pool, kitchen and retaurant on site, cool pool, ;) for a relatively good price.

I have read 50-50 reviews here and there.

I would like opinions of DIS'ERS that have done it.

So... whadda ya know?

TIA

We did it about 5 years ago and for your sake I hope it has changed. I know there have been lots of people on this board who have gone recently but as for me I would never return. Be SURE you say you want to stay in a new unit then should have a good stay. We stayed in an old unit and it was icky.
I must say that the management was not all that helpful either.

Hey,

We stayed at Liki Tiki 2 yrs ago. My kids  it!! We went on a timeshare deal. We were told to arrive early for room placement. When we got there we first were booked in the older townhome style. When we checked in their was an ant problem or something so they moved us over to the 1100 building right across from the pool. Now those units were fantastic. Big screen t.v. nice big jacuzzi tubs.

My kids loved the water park, it was a new concept at the time now all the timeshares are getting into it. They also did some of the kidsclub crafts. They also gave us a free meals for every family member because of the VCR not working in our condo and no one came to fix it.

We loved it, our new unit was clean, spacious. Any type of customer service issue we had they bent over backwards to handle. If we werent so hooked on pool homes, our family would go back again.

last year and loved it!! We didn't get to spend as much time there as we would have liked but it was very nice! Have fun!
