So I'm defa non roller coaster person in general but...I did Splash (hated the big drop), btmrr (loved it) and Space (didn't hate it). How bad is RRC?

Closest thing to a thrill coaster WDW has in my opinion. Fast launch, mostly in the dark, three inversions, over quickly.

RnRC is the most intense coaster at WDW, but not as "bad" as other serious Orlando coasters like Hulk, Kraken, Dragon Challenge. RnRC has no big drop, but a fast 0 to 60mph launch instead. How do you handle loops/corkscrews? I would say since the inversions are in the dark, and you can't really see where you are going, the inversions are "easier". If you can handle Thunder/Splash/Space, why not take the next step and try it.

I've never done a loop or anything.

Well nobody can really tell you if you should try it or not but.... if you don't have serious motion sickness or something like that I'd say go for it!

I have ridden it for years but usually only once and my family or the kids will ride multiple times. Prior to our last trip I suddenly developed vertigo and was so afraid my fun at Disney would be over but I was still able to ride the things I wanted like RnRC. I think it is a fun ride and over very fast, maybe it will be a one and done for you but then you will have experienced it.

There must be a part of you that really wants to if you are asking us. :thumbsup2 I was like that for years with Tower of Terror and was so scared when I finally did it on an adult only trip with my DH. Last trip we went back with our young adult children and they were so thrilled "chicken mom" would ride it with them, not only that we rode it right at the stroke of midnight on an eve emh!

If you don't like roller coasters don't do RnRc. I love Expedition Everest and I didn't enjoy RnRc. The launch start takes the breath from you, and then you go right away into an inversion. Plus it is very bumpy. You rattle around in your seat.

If you do decide to try it it is a very short ride.

wow, I didn't think rnrc was bumpy at all. The launch scares me, but after that first 10-15 seconds it's fun. My mom rode with me and had to ride a second time because she didn't believe she went upside down. You can't even really tell

It's SO smooth and there aren't any huge drops. You need to decide if you can handle the inversions. I hate them, but agree that the fact that you're in the dark helps a little. It's a pretty short ride and is over before you know it.

RnRC doesn't shake you around like Thunder/Space, but I wouldn't call it smooth, your head can definitely get rattled in the inversions. The back cars might throw you around a bit more.

it is very intense, loud music and you go fast, inside and go upside down on occasion. I would be cautious if I didn't like roller coasters. Not as intense as say the Hulk at Universal but definitely the most intense at Disney.

Wow, my ride was in the front car, and I didn't find it smooth AT ALL! I tried to keep my head back, and I still was rattling around in my seat. I felt like someone had thrown me around by the time I got off. I'm not saying you are lying, but it is weird we had such different experiences.

I do think the car you are in is a huge factor, but beyond that though I find it hard to believe it could be smooth any where. the twists and turns on it and the speed, I feel it on every one.

Definitely one of the thrilliest rides at WDW. I put the thrill factor right up with Everest, although with it being inside, it does feel smaller. There are no huge hills to climb or giant drops. More corkscrews and tight turns. I think of it as fairly smooth, but the debate above about that has me questioning my recall ;)

My sis-in-law isn't a roller coaster junkie and is afraid of anything she can't watch ahead of time, so she won't try it. My 9-year old daughter is a bit of a thrill seeker and thought it was very exciting. She agrees that the super-fast launch is scary and exhilarating but the ride after that felt about the same thrill level as Space. Even though you go upside down, it's dark and fast and you may not even realize it.

I guess which car you're in can definitely have an effect. I've never sat in the front so that's not what my experience is based on. I find Space Mountain and Big Thunder to be extremely rough/bumpy, I don't feel that on RnRC.

I defintely agree it is more smooth than Thunder Railroad (sometimes my back hurts after riding that one) and Space Mountain can be depending on which part of the car you are on.

I'm not a coaster fan by any means, but do love BTMRR and the mostly-tamer 7DMT. Space Mountain is not my favorite but I will do it, and this trip I did Everest (finally!) and did like it but found it a bit intense. That said, I LOVE Rock and Roller Coaster! Easily my favorite ride. The launch is intense but seems to be over quickly, and I find it to be so smooth. In the dark I really can't tell I'm upside down, and wouldn't have known if my brother-in-law hadn't told me beforehand. It is over really quickly so I would give it a shot. The worst that can happen is after those two minutes are up, you really hate it and never have to do it again. I am a huge scaredy cat of rides, but I do like to try things at least once. There are no drops which I love since that is my biggest roller coaster fear.

Bad. Its got a corkscrew inversion and a loop inversion. All in the dark.

I am not a roller coaster person but I knew if I did not ride this neither would my grandson, so in November I stepped way outside my comfort zone and took a ride on the RnRc.....I cannot wait to ride it again...It's a very fast take off, and a very quick ride....I did not find it bumpy at all in fact I would have to say it was the smoothest ride I ever had on a coaster....try it you may be surprised like I was :)

i would not recommend RNRC for someone that really doesn't like roller coasters/thrill rides.

i assume you did not like the big drop on splash because you don't care for the feeling your stomach during bigger drops?
if so the launch on RNRC gives you that feeling.
there's also 3 inversions which can also be pretty intense when you have not experienced an upside down ride before.

i also would not recommend TOT to someone that is not a thrill rides person.
it gives you that feeling in your stomach to the extreme.

RNRC and TOT are the 2 most intense rides at WDW.
