Roller Blades or Roller Skates for a 6 year old...???

Want to get my dd some rollers for her bday, should we do the skates or the blades? She has never rollered before, but she has been ice skating, and was pretty good.

Any advice??
She will be 6.

My girls started on roller blades and the only time they wore regular skates was at the rink. They did *much* better on the blades. When you get to the store, you will find that blades that are adjustable in size are very common, so that they should last her several years.

And my kids were the other way around. They can't balance on blades to save their little lives, but they like skates. They are five and eight.

I have found roller skates much easier to balance on than roller blades.
