Roll Call! Who's going mid-September 2012?

We are planning on being there Sept 8-12. It is our first time to Disneyland so we hope to experience everything we can. Will SM be closed the whole time? What else will be closed for overlays? I hope we can get just 1 day of SM in!

Wow, I just dodged a bullet thanks to all of you! First, I quickly bought 3-day park hoppers on Getawaytoday. Saved a big chunk of change.:cool1:

Next, I called DLR to change our reservations from hotel + tickets to hotel only. I got a verrrryyyyy slow and slightly confused agent. I'm still not sure if she actually cancelled my reservation - I need to call back and check tomorrow - but she did mention something that was super important. We had booked a 1-bedroom suite, banking on the fact that typically Disney has a Fall offer good for 25-30% off. The agent I was speaking to told me that the discounted offer was not valid on suites!!! I am going to confirm this as well when I call back, but I'm feeling lucky that it's on my radar.

Thanks again, guys.
How did all this work out? I had called to see what a 1bdrm would cost us and they said $4000 I was like um thats for just the room we have tickets they said yes... in the end I can get 2 rms at PP for $1500 each and have more room... weird

We'll be there from Sept. 28 - 30. Last year went in December and did the Holiday Tour ... which was great --- this year we may try the Fantasmic package.

We will be there the 3-7. Wont actually be in the park until the 4th. I plan on staying at hojo. I seem to be the only one going in early September. I hope that means it will have very low crowds. :thumbsup2

I'm looking at September 6-9 and I'm hoping the same thing you are! I was going to go with September 13-16, but I honestly don't care about Halloween (I know people will hate me for saying that!) so I'm thinking maybe I'll be able to avoid the crowds that will show up for that.

I also don't mind closures, so that's not an issue. I visit with my mom and she doesn't care much for the rides.

I know! It is weird. I ended up booking 2 rooms at the DLR. Works out to less than a 1-bedroom suite, provided they run the fall promo again.

We have switched the dates for our family trip back to July. There is a good chance that DS17 and I will still be in the park for a day or two when I move him down to school, but it is undecided as I haven't yet decided when/if I'll be getting another AP after the price increase. I am sad about this, since I was looking forward to finally seeing the Halloween decorations and everything, having never experienced that before. I am also not looking forward to the crowds and heat in July, but at least I have less time to wait until I see Carsland! :thumbsup2

Hi,

I will be there Sept 9th -15th. I am going on the Lights, Camera, Magic tour on the 14th.

YAY for seeing Carsland soon!

110 days left for me, there are so many doing the double didgit dance out there, I am getting close!

We'll be there September 23-25... only 2.5 days - well, maybe we'll sneak in a few hours on the 26th before driving back home!

I didn't know there was a September Roll call thread :cool1: YAY!

My family will be going Sept 5th-7th for my DDs 4th birthday. We are so excited :))))))))

DH and I will be there 9/8-9/17 with DS3 and DS5. This is our "Last Hurrah" before our AP's expire in Oct. and we move to Mich.

We're booking rooms at the Days Inn & Suites Garden Grove. Have stayed there on two previous DL vacays and have been EXTREMELY happy with it. Considered going out with a bang at DL or PPH but staying "in the magic" costs $2,000+. Days Inn comes in at $800. Simply cannot afford all that magic! ;)

We've done our research and mid. Sept. is supposed to be a great time to go as far as crowd levels are concerned. We can't help but agree. I mean, all the kiddies will be back in school and figure no one will be pulling them out for a DLR trip as soon as it's in session, right? However, some ppl on another thread are having their doubts due to Cars Land. Anyone here have any opinions?

Re: closures. Apparently Alice will be down for refurb beginning 9/13. HM, of course. Gadget's Go Coaster. And Midway Games will be down over at DCA. If BTMRR is down... I'm going to cry.

Currently compiling a list of "must-do's"... They include a nite ride on teacups under the lanterns, Minnie and Friends character breakfast at the Plaza, meeting Cinderella, and for once in my LIFE being FIRST in line at the gates for DL opening!

SO EXCITED I CANNOT STAND IT!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! My DH and I are taking our first-ever trip to Disneyland this September 23-29 after annual trips to WDW for years. We simply canNOT wait. We'll be staying at Paradise Pier with a theme park view. Nice to meet you all!

I personally think it will be slightly busier then expected, but nothing to nuts.

So excited for you!!! Welcome to the group!! :goodvibes

DH and I will be there Sept 5th - 8th for our 10 year anniversary! Not positive where we are staying yet, hoping for GC if we are able to get a good deal with our AP or through family that is a disney employee. If not, we will most likely be at Staybridge Suites.

We were just there in May with the kids and I'm so excited to get an adult trip. I know we are going to be missing the HM but I am crossing my fingers we will not miss Space Mountain, that is my favorite ride and I cannot find any info on when it will be closing down.

With it being off season, is it still a must to make dining reservations months in advance? We are wanting to do the BB for our anniversary but haven't looked into reservations yet.

LOL I am almost to double digits!!! Yay for all of you who already are!

Wow, just counted and I am 74 days out until the day we drive down! We're driving Labor Day and will be in the park Sept 4.

Saw in another thread that HydroGuy predicted that day/week to be the lowest crowds of the year (as I hoped). I'm wondering what that will mean this year!?! Will DCA still be crazy but less so than now, with DL at normal 1/10 levels? Or will just CarsLand still be busy but the rest of DCA will slow down? Obviously with less shows times in the schedule we'll still need to plan ahead for WOC and F!, I assume.

Trying to weigh out whether EE will still be very valuable at that time. I'd love to stay on site and use EE every day. Is MM still a huge advantage in the slow times (on a usual Sept for example)? And do most people still take breaks in the afternoon with the shorter 10-8 opening hours? I know my kids will nap better in the stroller so we plan to power through - nap time is FP/Child Swap time for DH and me!

Would love some tips or guesses at how to make the most of the parks in Sept this year as we get more insights into Carsland, Carthay for WOC, EE, etc.
