Roll call: who'll be at MK May 23?

The park did not close last year because of capacity. Leap day 2012 was not crowded, but busy. The only thing is that after midnight it tends to turn into a CM night and teens night but I enjoyed all the laughter and enthusiasm. It was a lot of fun to see everyone having a good time and turning it into a party. The thing I noticed about this years advertisement was "select attractions open" meaning some things will/may close at normal hours. The dance party in front of the castle is awesome. Also this year they are allowing costumes. Regular park admission is all that is needed for the full 24 hours.

Hey Mom2darlingboys! I hate to burst your bubble but the party is also meant for me :) lol... like you, I could not pass up being there on my birthday! Sounds like we have similar plans! Ohana for a late dinner as well! I will have my son with me and we'll be wearing shirts that I made. Mine has Maleficent it and his has Hades. I'll have horns and he'll have blue hair :)

For sure, fellow Gemini! I'm happy to share "my" party with you!

Blue hair and horns... It should be pretty easy to hunt you down to wish you a happy day Budafam! Is this not an awesome event for our birthday??? Serious pixiedust:

I am trying to talk my hubs into dressing up as one of Merida's triplet brothers, with our two sons and I, of course, will be the girl herself. He says it is going to be too hot to wear bear hats and a wig. But hey, it's my birthday, right?

And we're having dinner at Narcoossee's but will be just around the lagoon from you guys! Fingers crossed we get back into the park after our meals! :crowded:

How old are your boys? I wish mine could ride the speedway by himself...only ride he can't do yet solo. Some of the rides closed for periods in the middle of the night and reopened in the wee hours of the morning. I know Buzz was closed for several hours and reopened at 4am...so it was one of the last rides we did.

Are they into Star Wars at all? Are you planning on attending any of the SWW stuff?

The key to making it through the night (and also the day) will be to take a break and take a nap. It will get really busy in the afterschool/afterwork hours so that will be the best time to take a break. Honestly I wouldn't go back until midnight at the earliest! But like I said at 3am people were leaving in droves and we just hopped on an empty bus back to MK.

Sorry, lost track of this thread for a while! My boys are 10 and 14 so well able to ride on their own, thank goodness. That ride is the bain of my existence! But for them, there is nothing the would rather do than drive, and shoot at Buzz and the shooting gallery at Frontierland - I swear they shoot their weight in $5 bills there every visit!

We all like Star Wars so we plan to attend for sure and see how much we get done. I'm sure they will want to have little statue store troopers made of themselves - that Darth's Mall thing is no doubt going to be a giant money pit! But we are looking forward to it, having never gone for SWW!

Are you guys dressing up to rock your Disney side?

I got passholder rate may 20 to 24 at French quarter. YAY. I did not expect that.

I'm finally coming to a Disney 24 hour event!! Woot woot! Ever since they started doing these a couple years ago, I KNEW I had to get myself to one. Last year, my hubby and I even stayed up late watching the webcam at the Monsters Inc. party. We are such Disney Nerds! When they announced the Rock Your Disney Side party, I immediately told him we had to leave the kids behind and do it. But alas, we could not find anyone to watch our two boys for the weekend (they are 4 and 6 and too young to pull an all-nighter). So he very selflessly offered to stay home on Daddy-patrol for the weekend and told me to take my bestie with me and go have a fun girls weekend at Disney!! Whatta guy, eh?? So, that's what we are doing! Even though my family are WDW regulars, my friend hasn't been to Disney since she was a small child. So I'm very excited to have an entire 24 hours to see the MK and just really take our time to soak it all in. I love seeing everything through the eyes of a Disney-newbie! Our goal is to be there the ENTIRE TIME. Being Moms to young kids, we are used to being sleep-deprived, so I think we will fair alright. Not making a ton of plans....have a few dining ressies, but just gonna go where the wind blows us! With no kids, we will be FREEEEE to do what we want without any whining or potty breaks LOL. I could not be more excited!!! We want to dress up....will probably change into costumes later in the day. I'll likely be Rapunzel, and she looks like Snow White, so gonna try to pull some outfits together.

On a side note, has anyone found any additional info on the park schedule for the day? MDE only has the MK park hours as being open to 1am. I'm guessing they haven't updated it? Any ideas what attractions will be open all night? Will there be any schedule as far as special characters or dance parties etc? Just not sure what to expect, and not finding much info posted online yet....

Our trip was going to be May 16-22 but when we found out about this event we added 2 more days so that we could spend 24 hours at the Magic Kingdom! We will be staying at All Star Music. My birthday is May 1 so since we can't get there that soon, I'll be celebrating it during our vacation. (I know it isn't as good as being there on the actual day but this will be my 1st time at WDW anytime near my birthday as we usually go in the fall!) We are also going to SWW for the 1st time this trip. So excited!! It will be myself (46), my DDs (20 & 22), my brother (44) and my mom (69). At least my girls and I will be Disney Bounding on the day of the party. I'll be doing Belle, my DD20 will be doing Donald Duck and my DD22 will be doing Ariel! :cool1:

We rearranged our trip about 5 times when this event was announced!!

First we were going the first week of May, with 3 of us, then I added a second trip for this event, with just 2 of us, then added the 3rd person in and cancelled the first week of May, then one party member bailed on us so it's down to an all girls trip, with a first timer!! :rotfl2:

We're Disneybounding in the morning as Wendy & Tink hitting up the 6am rope drop, doing early breakfast at CRT, then doing a little bit of stuff in the morning before heading back to Pop for a rest/long nap!

Then we'll return late afternoon in costumes!! Esmerelda & Rapunzel! And we plan to stick it out for the rest of the night til 6am! We'll sleep most of the next day and head to AK for the evening!!

We are DisneyBounding, too! We will be Snow White and Rapunzel. Glad to hear others will be dressing up. We are staying at POP as well for our girls' weekend! Should be lots of fun. Can't wait!

My DBF and I will be there. We had already planned on this week, and we got lucky they are doing the 24 hr event then. (I had my fingers crossed lol) I'm dressing up as Maleficent (kinda a steampunkish version) and DBF will be a pirate. I hope I can make it all night lol. :yay: Hopefully Starbucks will be open all night haha.
