Roll Call. Oct.19,02 Cruisers Continued...

I wanted to wear a tiara on the cruise but Joyce & Bonnie wouldn't go for it! Sometimes they can be party poopers. I figured if I was dressed like a queen I should be wearing a crown!

Next line from the Neil Diamond song: "and your kisses give me goosebumps down to my toes. You're like the only rooster in the hen house & it shows". It's a really OLD song on one of his ALBUMS (before CD's).

Sandy: You only need to clean the rooms you think they are going to see so if they have to pass your living room you better clean it. Old saying "Clean enough to be healthy. Dirty enough to be happy".

HAVE A HEALTHY, HAPPY & WEALTHY NEW YEAR!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Toodles  :earsgirl: Jeanne

I will have the time of my life celebrating New Year at home! In my cozy chair. Etc...

Denine: I hope you feel better! I am already. At least the pain is lessening and the nausea associated with it is gone.

Barb: Western is more expensive I believe because they travel farther and also have an additional port to go in. Castaway Club-call to get your number. Tell them when you cruised and let them know that you want your number. They will give it to you over the phone.

Laurie: Sounds like you had a terrific time!!! I wish I was there. It sounds like something I would do. I would have liked the drive also! LOL!!!!!
Can I come to your house for dinner tonight?

Have fun tonight Sandy and Ted!!! I am glad to see you on here now Ted...Can't wait to here some more from both of you!

Julie, Julie, Julie...you are slipping!!! Once the holidays are over we will all get into our routines again.

Krista: 30 people! At least you don't have to cook for them this time! Have fun!! Glad to see you back. I missed you!

Mom: Where ever you are right now...SHAME ON YOU!!!!! You will have the wrath of Bonnie when you get back!!!! LOL!

To all:

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!! I miss you all!!!!!!!!

Love ya,
Bonnie

I'm off to party with the neighbors. Seems that an impromptu gathering on the street will happen at midnight, complete with all the kids banging pots and pans. LOL. I remember my GRANDMA telling me thats what they did as kids. Had to syncronize my watch with the official US time on that web site.
Barb, I found out that Denver has MommaMia for only another week or two. Yikes!
Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lori

Awfully quiet out there!!! Does that mean you are all recovering from NYE?

I had a wonderful NYE at home!

Sandy and Ted: I hope you made it home safely! I want to hear all about it!

Krista: How did the party go? I guess it was a lot easier than the short notice dinner party!

Julie: It was great chatting with you as always!!! SNAP OUT OF IT GIRL!!!! Your big sis has spoken!!!!!! You are loved by one and all!!! Don't forget that...

Garry: I hope the NYE revelers went easy on you guys! At least your shift ended before the New Year celebrations really got started!

Lori: I've ruined a pot or two banging them on NYE! Now they seem to do firecrackers.

All the rest...are you functioning yet? LOL!

Party went off without a hitch. We have WAY too much food left over. Anyone for chili and dip.

Hope all had a safe and happy one.

Bonnie: Glad you are feeling better. Missed you too.

Denine: Get well before that trip.

Darren: Happy New Year. Where are you?

Julie: Missed you.

Lori: I'll go too.

Laurie: What fun, your friends sound like a lot of fun too.

Garry: Any funny stories?

Jeanne: How dare the Dudettes not let you wear a tiara. I say any time one can get away with it, don a tiara. (I do)

Sandy: Read the above note and don the boa.

Barb: Hello

Wow an honorary Dude. Glad you got on Ted.

Have a great day, and go Sooners!! Everyone must cheer for them, since our beloved Dolphins lost their way right out of the playoffs.

Krista

Good Morning to all! I hope you had a great time last night! Garry made it home to celebrate the New Year. Today is his last day of afternoons then he beings nights! So, if I work it out right, I MIGHT be able to join the morning coffee chat. (might is the BIG word) Garry will then have a chance to post more when he gets on nights, so he is not MIA, he's just stuck being tied up with the "work cr**".

Laurie, sounds like a blast! I am waiting to see that show! I have heard wonderful things about it and I like ABBA songs. I'm also a Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow (yes I know, but I grew up listening to him), Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and BIGGGGGG DEAN MARTIN fan. I have always loved listening to that kind of music. I'm in to go see the show. I've got my tiara and Makenzie got some feathered boas from her dress up trunk from Christmas, so I am all set!

Lori, I hope you used you old pots and pans! I destroyed one of my mothers pans when I was in high school.

Sandy and Ted I hope you had a great time last night! I want to hear all about it.

Ted, glad to see you! Garry figures you two along with Darren can "manly" up the site! LOL

Well, the house is STILL a mess! I have to start taking down the Chistmas decorations today (not by choice) because I have someone from the insurance company coming out to look at our front window and that is where our Christmas tree is. We had a problem last Friday in which our living room window was leaking water into the room. We caught it before in totally destroyed everything. Who knows if they are even gonna fix it. Only time will tell. Sooooooo I have to take the tree down to have him get to the window so, I guess I should take down the rest since I think it would look a little odd with out the tree.

I promise I will be back on later! Sorry I have been MIA but I have read the posts. I guess I was a lurker for awhile.

Have a great day! Happy 2003! Let's hope it is a great year!

Julie the lurker. Don't like the sound of that. Better start posting. We miss you.

Krista, we'd all love to come over for leftovers. Just name the time.

Jeanne, sorry, I still can't do it. What record? I probably have it and can do some homework. Thanks for the tip on housework. Whew-saved me some time and energy. I think you would look lovely in a tiara. What's with the other dudettes, anyway. It would have really added to you coming down the staircase like you did.

Bonnie, sounds like you had a good New Years Eve. Glad to hear that!

Laurie, you need to move closer to all of us so we can have some fun together. That would have been a blast.

And Lori, me with a boa? Doesn't sound like me!!! Ok, you got me to parasail, guess you would have to work on the boa thing. Can't be red--it clashes with my hair. I guess we could ask our fashion consultant, Garry, about a red one. He has such style. I have always wanted a tiara. Probably could do that. I do love ABBA!

Barb, would you honestly go with if I had a boa? I'll be the sane one and you and Lori can get all the stares. Ok? Lunch soon sounds great. It would be wonderful to see you again. Castaway Club does NOT give you a deal. Just the perks checking in and the perks on board. Like Bonnie said, just call and get a number. We had to do that for our DD.

Denine, haven't heard from you. Hope you had a great New Years!

Diana, MIA. Where are you?????

Doesn't look like Darren is going to say his goodbyes. Shame on him!! He leaves in a couple of days.

Ok, here goes. Neil Diamond was GREAT! Loved it. He sang for two solid hours. No intermission, nothing. He didn't miss a note. Age hasn't hurt him. Sorry that he didn't do anything from Jonathon Livingston Seagull, however. Heard he really does that up nice. Lori, the light rail worked out perfect. Got on around 4:30 at the Mineral Station and went down and had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Walked around a little on the 16th St. Mall afterwards and then jumped on the C line for the Pepsi Center. Had to wait a couple of trains to come back home but not a big deal. We even got to sit both ways. Got home at 2:00am. I am TIRED! We got up at 5:45am to say goodbye to our dd who left for Mexico today. I need a NAP before going over to the other DD's house for dinner.

Man, am I wordy today. Will give you all a break. Hope everyone survived their New Years celebration.

Here's my story! I worked til 2:30 then went to pick up my 16 year old nephew. He wanted to go to the hockey game with us. Went to the game (WE WON!!) and then drove back to drop him off. My brother was having a party and they insisted we stay. Unfortunetely, stayed up til 4:00 AM (I never do that!!!) and then slept there in the family room. Got up around 8:00 and my brother prepared waffles and bacon for us all. Cam home and went to bed!!!! Just got up and took a shower and still I am exhausted!! I am definitely not as young as I used to be and the body keeps reminded me!!!

Glad everyone had a good and safe New Year's Eve. That's all from me for now!!

Happy New year!

We got to our friends around 5 PM, John's brother and his wife came over and then we ate dinner. Later, John's daughter came over with her husband and new daughter. Lexi was born 2 weeks after Kaleigh. You think Kaleigh has hair??? You should see Lexi. Her dad is 100% Italian. Lexi has a lot of jet black hair. It looks like she is wearing a wig. Then another friend from college came over. We stayed until almost 12:30 AM. They live in Eastlake, which is about an hour's drive from here. We came home, I put the pork roast and kraut in the crockpot and got to bed about 2AM. I was up at 5 AM to go to work. Luckily, I had a good day. If I was getting time and a half, I would have left at 9:30 AM instead of 10 AM. But, money talks! I came home, looked at the paper, had some toast and went to bed. All in all it was a good New Year's Eve.

I am still sick. My head doesn't hurt as much. I am sick every New Year's Eve like clockwork. Unfortunately, wherever I picked up this bug, Kaleigh got it too. She only seems to have the sniffles. She doens't have a fever and doesn't act sick. I have some decongestant left over from the last time and have been giving her that, plus we elevated her mattress. I am just hoping it doesn't turn into bronchitis again, for me or Kaleigh!

Jerry taped the Rose Parade for me so we can watch it later.

Darren: I hope you have a terrific trip and you had better report in before you go and when you get back!

Julie: I hope you get your window fixed.

Sandy: It sounds like you had a terrific time!

Laurie: You sound like you had a terrific time. Tiara's, huh?

Hi All!!!

Well I have to say my PC is giving me all sort of problems (AGAIN!!!) in fact I am now ready to get a new one. I have done so much to try and fix it but I'm having no luck. The only reason I'm posting now is that I've got it working but i'm not sure for how long! I thought I was going to have to go down to my local internet cafe to check my e-mail (for my insurance confirmation and my hotel conf.) and also to post on here but i've been lucky!

Well all I can say is... In 48 hours i'll be in New York waiting for my second plane to take me to Orlando and in less than 72 hours I'll be on the ship!!!! (In fact in 72 hours I'll be outside on Deck 4 for the safety drill!)

I've had some luck though, I've been quite ill for the last few days in fact i've spent virtually all of the last few days in bed. At one point I thought I was never going to get better for the cruise, but I'm feeling much better today (just in time!!!)

Of course today I've been trying to do as much sorting out as possible today. I've still got a lot of packing to do tomorrow but it should all be done in time.

IM SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!

oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We actually only destroyed one wooden utensil. The kids picked from the older pans and wooden spoons, being very selective for just the right volume and resonance! I broke one tine off of a wooden fork-like thingy (since the kids had my spoons).
The neighborhood really made some noise, fireworks were being set off on either side of us, so we saw those. The best part was walking home from the party. We had the kids as our designated walkers to see that we made it home safely! (We were at the neighbor who is the wine distributor. He had a number of 'soon to be released' wines as well as hard liqueurs for us to sample. Ugggh!)
To my surprise, I feel pretty good this morning.
Glad everyone had a good, safe night.

So happy you got to say goodbye Darren!! Bon Voyage. I will be watching you sail away on Saturday!!!! New York eh? How long is your layover? Not too long I hope.

Happy to hear that everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. Denine, I hope you feel better.

Talk to you all soon I hope.

Diana are you back yet? We are getting concerned here. How is your dad doing?

I'm not lurking! I just have been having a tough time getting to the computer during the day! I have posted, just late. I promise now that the holidays are over I will be back and posting normally.

Today was Garry's last afternoon shift for this next year. He starts nights on Monday. He will have to post later, but his last afternoon was not quiet. He got home at 12:50am instead of the normal 11:00 pm. Happy New Year to him.

I'm glad to see that everyone has made it through ringing in the new year. It sounds like everyone had a great time! It was quiet here, but still nice.

Krista, your recipes sound wonderful that you make for your parties. You will have to put some into the October 19th cruise cookbook.

Darren, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!! Think of us often!!!!! We will watch you leave on Saturday!

Sue, glad to hear that you had a super time at your brother's house.

Well, my house is a bigger mess then it was before! I started taking down the Christmas stuff since we have a man coming from the insurance company to look at the window. There is sooooooo much stuff to put away. Oh well, It will get done soon.

Well, take care today and I WILL POST this afternoon sometime. I promise! I won't let you all down.

Glad to see you all worried about me not being around, I'm here. Thanks for the thoughts Bonnie, Sandy, Krista and everyone else.

P.S. If you get an email from Anna Marie Lauter that is from me. My step daughter was sending cards to her friends and when I sent you guys one, I didn't look at who is would be from. I saw this one and I thought it was prefect because of the Big Guy's wine "tasting" episode on the cruise! If you didn't get the email, let me know and I will send it to you!

I guess you all figured out I worked New Year's Day & it was really busy. Total count of deliveries in 2002 was 5496!

Interview with Detective went very well on Tuesday & my son has his "big interview" on January 6th. That is where about six of the officers fire questions at the four potential candidates. He stands a 50/50 chance of getting into the police academy since they take two.

Darren: Have a great trip! Someone went on the four day recently & was not allowed to use the mugs for sodas. She also said on all the buffets you were not allowed to take the food yourself. It had to be served by the staff.

We always banged pots & pans on New Year's Eve but this year I couldn't even stay up. I also have other superstitions - women wear pink underwear on both Christmas & New Year's Eve for good luck (Argentinian), have money in your hand at Midnight to have money in the coming year, put coins outside before midnight & bring it in the next day to have money coming into your house & don't eat anything that "scratches backwards" ex. turkey, chicken, because it will not allow you to move forward. Don't you just love all these things and, of course, I do them all!

Have a great year! Don't take down those decorations too little enjoy them a little more!!!! Little Christmas isn't until Jan. 6th.

Toodles:wave: :earsgirl: Jeanne

Heading to work!!!:( :( :(

Julie - The e-cards are cute. Thanks for the laughs! When you're done with that tree and the rest of your cleaning, you can come to my house and do the same since you will be so experienced!! Hope all goes well with the window!

Mama Mia was in Charlotte over a month ago. I didn't get a chance to see it. I think I was sick during that time. Laurie - glad you had a good time! Lori, Barb and Sandy - let us know if you go and wear the boas!!

Denine - we're looking forward to hopefully seeing you all when you stop over in Charlotte. I'd love to be packed in your luggage and going to sunny FLA to see MICKEY! Kaleigh's first visit to the park!! I hope you do have warm, sunny weather. Hope you and Kaleigh get well for the trip.

Kristaia - when's the next party?

Darren - you must be getting sooooo excited!! Have a great trip and we can't wait to hear from you again!

Bonnie - didn't see a post from you this morning. Glad you are feeling better. Keep taking that antibiotic.

Jeanne - If we do the reunion cruise, we shoul all wear tiaras!!! Well, maybe not Garry, Ted, Ben, Paul, Darren, and the rest of the guys!! Maybe crowns for them!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Sue: That would be hysterical if all the women wore tiaras for a picture. I suppose we could find "crowns" for the men!

Sandy: Did you tell Neil I said "hello"? I hope you requested that song from him "You're so sweet, horseflies keep buzzin around your face. Kentucky moonshine could never take your place and your kisses give me goosebumps down to my toes. You're like the only rooster in the henhouse and it shows..." Of course, as Bonnie & Joyce will attest I always sing the wrong words to songs or make up my own.;) ;) ;)

Julie: Love the picture of "the Big Guy" on New Year's Eve!:p

Will check in later..... Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

KENTUCKY WOMAN! I sing just like you, Jeanne. I know every word because I just make them up! Too funny!

Good morning everyone. Quiet here for a short time. Getting the little ones soon. Just wanted to check in.

Sorry, not as old as the rest of you. I have don't have any pots and pans stories like the rest of you. All we did when we were kids was watch White Christmas. They had it on every New Years Eve.

Okay Susan. You want us to wear tiaras now instead of lime green. We definitely would stand out.

Julie, I didn't get your email.

Hear the kids so will talk to you all later. Back to the old routine. Yuck!

I'm off from work today and tomorrow. I will attempt to paint my son's old room YUK!!! I HATE to paint!!! Christmas decorations heading up to the attic. The tree was tossed yesterday!!! Yeah! It stayed upright during the holidays!

DON"T ENCOURAGE JEANNE!!! Tiara's??? I guess I will have to go along if everyone else will. Will this be for formal night? I can just see it on my short hair...it will probably tilt but that's ok everyone will think I'm Miss America!!!

Well, back to work! It's easier to go to work than do all that I have to do at home.

Glad everybody had a safe New Years.

I think I should tell you my view on Sandy’s night on the town. It was like when Cinderella went to the ball. As you know we started the evening at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner. After dinner we walked down the 16th Street Mall, which was a street that was closed to just pedestrian a number of years ago, and went into some of the stores to look around and kill time until the concert started. We then went to the concert. From the time we stood in line to get into the concert and through the whole concert when I would look at Sandy her eyes would sparkle like a little girl in a candy store looking at all the candy. Sandy told me that the next time she goes to one of his concerts she wants to sit where the lady was sitting that Neal Diamond choose to sign too.

Jeanne, are you sure the words to the Neal Diamond song you are reciting are right or are you just making the lyrics up as you are sing the song to yourself. Guess will have to break out the records this weekend to try to find the lyrics, that’s assuming we have the record.

Susan, if you can get Sandy to wear a tiara and the feather boas, and convince Garry, Ben, Paul, and Darren to wear a crown then I would be willing to wear a crown. I suppose that Garry will want us to wear the black socks with shorts also.

Darren, have a great cruise.

Have to go to work everybody have a good day.

Ted
