I think Barb has had an effect on me. (No, I'm not forgetting things more than usual...) I actually let the kids go sit on Santa's lap while at the mall today. (I need to get this last roll of film finished up!) Then my friends arrive and their son want's to join my kids in line and they say, "No Evan, we'll do it later, this is too early". Ugggh. I must find a way to squeeze into my next conversation with her ..." Yes, I'm a firm believer that Christmas should last a full two months."

We're getting a 'foster snake' tomorrow. Oh Joy. Katie has moved beyond her regular matchmaking talent, to pet / new owner matchmaking. She knew one friend who's brother needed to get rid of a snake right away, and another who wanted one real bad but who's Mom is hesitant. So she talks me into calling both Mom's and working it out so that we'll baby-sit the snake until Christmas Eve., when the other Mom comes over for it as a surprise gift to their son. (sigh) Now there will be TWO of them in the house. I love my kids.

Okay Bonnie, babysitting the kids and taking them outside Palo's sounds like a plan. Then I'll just leave you for a second and walk inside the restaurant to make sure we got everyone's attention. Well, it would be rude to interupt their conversation, so I'll just have a seat until they're finished. Okay...I guess I'll look at a menu while I'm waiting...gee, the filet looks very good...how is that prepared? Get the picture yet??????


Seriously, thanks to everyone for all the words of support for my venture back to the workplace. Today I was the lucky receipient of dirty looks from both the Chief and the Captain (as well as being ignored). I guess I'm suppose to feel bad or something...not! But it does promise to get more interesting as they try to cover their tracks from the past summer. I got a chuckle out of an item on the department bulletin board though. The local paper had a picture of a ship sinking. Someone cut it out and wrote "SS _________" on it (fill in city name). Not that morale is a problem or anything!

A little over 2 weeks till the WDW trip. I can't wait although I think my budget sure can! Maybe Jeanne is working overtime to make beaucoup bucks for the trip. If she doesn't check in soon whe will replace Laurie as "the Lurker". And Joyce, well I give up on her.

Lori-Santa sitting before Thanksgiving??? And a second snake?? YUK! I used to have one that lived between my yard and the neighbors. We named it Joan after the manager of our condo/townhouse complex. Haven't seen her since Joan moved away though.

Now just a quick note: whoever gets the Widell family (me) please just send through the regular mail and put on the customs form it is a GIFT!!!! If you do UPS or FedEx or such I will end up paying close to $30 in custom broker fees when they deliver it! Don't mean to be a hassle so thought about not doing it but I really wanted to. Good Morning Everyone!!

I look forward to reading the board everyday when I get to
work. Seems there is so much activity at night. I am going to have to join in!

Last night I was busy in my craft room. I decorated a garland with candy canes and suckers then make some velvet bows and and a sparklely flower wreath for my front room that is all decorated in Nutcraker stuff. I see I should have been in the computer room joining in on the board instead!

Ick Ick Ick!! A snake. I am sooo afraid of snakes I would not be able to sleep if we were snake sitting.

She is the only one I haven't heard from. If there is any additions to the gift exchange families or deletions, nows the time to say. Once I hear from Jeanne, the lists and all the rest of the info will be sent! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will assign the families tonight so look for your emails OR phone calls ( I just might get the "itch" to call some of you ) to tell you what family you have.

OK, I have given each family participating in the exchange a number. It's not to late if you want to join in. I will have my mother over this afternoon to help Makenzie draw the numbers. THIS will not be done until 6:30pm eastern standard time so for those of you who get home in the early evening will have the chance to remove or add yourself to the list if you are not already on it.

The guidelines for the gift exchange are:

OCTOBER 19, 2002 DISNEY CRUISE
CHRISTMAS GIFT EXCHANGE

This year a few people have expressed interest in an ornament exchange, but if you received a family that you got to know really well on the cruise and have another idea for a gift, then feel free to include it. This is how the exchange will work:

* I will assign each family a number.
* I will then place all numbers in a hat and have Garry or another impartial party pick them out one at a time. The
number he picks out for your family will be the family you purchase a gift for. No one will know which family you have but your family and of course me.
* You will purchase an ornament and/or individual gifts for your “gift” family and send your package to them with your name INSIDE the gift.
* Once you receive your gift via mail (UPS/FedEx etc.) DO NOT open it.
* After we confirm that everyone has their gift, then we can open them. Maybe we can choose a day/evening to open them up together online.
* Once we have opened the gifts, I will post the “Who got Who” list on our community
thread.
* Please try to keep the cost to $10-20.

Sorry Bonnie, but I don't have any kids for you to babysit. By then, you will be a pro with your grandchild. Earlier in the thread they were trying to get me to babysit. Something like a surrogate grandmother. Not a grandmother so I couldn't volunteer.
