Hey Guys....

Just wondering who else is planning to attend tomorrow's event. If you are, please check in here with the time you think you will be down and how many people you will be there with. Maybe some of us will recognize each other based on the descriptions and we'll have a mini-meet!

I will be with my 3 kids, no hubby b/c he's working, and my kids will have custom mickey & minnie embroidered shirts on.

I'm hoping to go around noon.

Hope to see some of you there! If you see me, please say hi :wave2:

Just reminded DH that it's tomorrow and if the weather isn't good it looks like we could be going, but probably not until the afternoon. You had a great idea though!

I'm going in the morning, around 11. Hopefully my DH will come with me, but after the Garden City Hotel event, and a visit to the sales center in RF, he's thinking he's done. Not me though, I could use DVC fix!

We are going all for of us in my sig picture but we are going to go first thing trying to arrive real early but also plan on hanging around a few hours . i will be wearing a home made shirt it has the what will you celebrate on the back and on the front it has writing on it . hope to meet you guys there .
Jeff

Well we just got back and it was crazy crowded at the mall (the weather is lousy on Long Island) but we're able to get a tour and private consult in 1/2 hr since we were DVC members already. They're offering $104 a point for BLT with $3.67/pt for dues and SSR/Treehouses at $100/pt and $4.34/pt for dues (we paid org $104 but included bonus/developer points). These discounts were to expire 11/1 but I feel it depends on how they do between now and then. We feel fortunate we took advantage almost 3 yrs ago and received the developer points equal to 430 (bought 230). Our salesperson name was Kim, she was very good, in fact all CM's were great especially the one who got us Mickey hats (they were loosing them by the bundle because no one was watching them). Over all the 1BR BLT was beautiful, better than I expected. Unfortunately we can't afford right now, but you never know, will always be in the back of mind!!!!!!!!!!

Way too crowed, and we were kind of rushed around, couldn't even sit inside had to sit at the outside tables set up with salesperson.

Oh what a zoo! Can't believe I was thinking I might see/recognize anyone there from the Dis - I could hardly keep track of my own kin! :rotfl:
It was seriously scary at one point b/c with two eyes and three kids, I actually lost sight of my older daughter because people had gotten between us and I panicked.

The line to meet the characters was insanely long- down half the length of the mall. I really cannot imagine wanting the photo op that badly. I mean, we did- we were all decked out in our finest Disney garb and ready to take a pic, but I couldn't imagine waiting for over an hour with the 3 of them climbing the walls. (my little guy is 2, so it was not happening). I was disappointed about not getting the picture, but am hoping to go back later before the mall closes. We live really close by, so no big deal. If I can get any good shots of the BLT models, I will post links.

Bye for now!

We just got back and it was great! The line for Mickey was long, but it went fast, only about 25-30 minutes. My kids loved the dance party. The cast was super friendly, despite the HUGE turnout that they had, and the new Doorway to Dreams is beautiful. Now I can't wait to get down to WDW in December!

I went by myself. DH had to go into work. I walked in and said forget it! It was mobbed. I did go to the podium to see if there are any incentives for add on's at AKV. I knew we should have grabbed those 50 points at the Garden City event a few weeks back! The CM there called inside for me and said add on incentive for AKV was $10.00 off a point (which is now $114), with minimum add on of 100 points! That's certainly not as good as it was with the Garden City event. They were offering incentives from 50 points and up. Oh well, not that upset because we're not that serious about adding on more at this time. As it stands, I've got a 3 night/4 day trip booked at AKV in 21 days! Then in January AKV and BWV and then in March at HH with friends. So our 2010 plans are all set, and we've got points coming 10/1/10, which is usually not the case, since we usually borrow all upcoming points!

We'll keep our eyes on the resale market, but I don't see much advantage to buying add ons through Disney right now. JMHO....

Just got back from there with DD and DS. It was crowded but fun! We got our "Doorway to Dreams" Ears and enjoyed soaking in a little Disney atmosphere. Spoke with CM at the store and he said that, at that point, it would be better to come back another day to tour the BLT 1 Br as they had a huge wait for the informative. We only live a few minutes away. He said since we are DVC members, it would better to come back and if he was there, he would give us an extra great tour. They were all very nice and helpful. People were rude and pushy when trying to get ears but it is what it is and we eventually got ours:goodvibes We were very glad that we went:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this info on AKV incentives. We were thinking

( wishfully at that)

that maybe AKV & SSR would have better incentive because they'd be

anxious to close things out at these 2 resorts. Oh well, not looking to add-on

as many as 100 pts either so we'll be watching resale market too.

We didn't get there today because youngest DD was under weather but maybe that was for best, with the huge turnout I'd rather go another day.

:goodvibes

We got there by 930 am , and there was about 20-30 people already, i was able to take a few pics before they got there they had photo pass set up so you do not miss anything plus they can make a few extra dollars from it . Then we got on line and the CM's brought around the doorway to dream hats . the first charecters out were , goofy , pluto and daisey . we got our pictures taking and then we moved towards the dj and let the kids have fun a bit to the left of the stage they had an area roped off for the mickey's mom's panel there were 3 ladies there i did not say Hi cause i went to ask if mickey and minnie were comming out the CM said about 30 minutes . So we tackled the line it was about 20-30 minutes long and we got sooo lucky that we got in under the wire for mickey minnie and chip and dale . after that we hit the disney store for good deals on stuffed animals 5.00 i got stitch and dumbo and they had nemo tigger, piglet ,and more .

You were smart to go early Jeff and it sounds like you had fun.

Were the Mom's Panel ladies actual members of the 2009 panel? That is pretty neat if they were. I got another rejection letter. Woe is me.

We went around 12:00 and left after a bit of the dance party. That line was waayyyy too long. Went back at 7:30, the line was manageable and we had our photo ops :goodvibes

The dance party was super b/c there was actually room to move around and dance. We had a great time. We brought my daughter's friend who is an only child and has never been to Disney. (she's 8 :sad1:) Sent her home with the Mickey ears on. Hopefully we planted a seed there and she bugs her parents until they take her to WDW! :rotfl:
