Roll away beds at Pop?

I know that it has been stated many times that there is a 4 guest limit and no roll aways available at any of the value resorts. However, I recently saw a photo on this site of a picture of a outdoor view and sure enough there was a roll away bed outside one of the doors at Pop. I do not wish to exceed the 4 guest limit but we have teenage boys that well not sleep together! A week is long to time to share the floor! We do have air mattresses but they really are not that comfortable for a whole week. Also, space is very limited at the values. Anyone ever request a roll away at one of the values or should I just call Disney and ask?

I asked about one on our trip last week (only four people but needed an extra bed) and they told me they do not have them.

We used a roll-away bed last year at POP. They gave us a hard time about requesting it when we checked in. We were told that at POP this is a fire hazard unless we stayed in a king room which we ended up doing. At the All-Stars we always got a roll-away and it was never an issue. I am guessing that it is because the double beds at POP are actually secured to the floor. :confused3

I just wrote the following in another thread RE cots in the Values....

At the Movies in '03, we arrived to find a cot in our room! We had NOT requested it! So i called to tell them it was there and they said they'd send someone up to remove it. We went to the park, came back, it was still there. So DS used it! It was very tight but fit in the angled window well area, sticking out of course.

Next morning, we called again. (we liked it but didn't really need it, we only have FOUR in our family --- AND we didn't want to pay for it!) Again, they said they'd remove it. Came back from the park, cot still there!

So DS used it again! We were only there five nights that year, used it all five nights, weren't charged a penny.

It was certainly a nice *fluke* for us (our two love having their own beds!) and apparently they ARE available.

HTH! :)

It's a long time ago now but we requested a cot for DS in 1997 at ASSp when he was 16 and DD was 11. When they asked at the front desk why we needed it I responded that DS was rather big and DH would have been crowded sleeping with him and that it was illegal where I came from for him to sleep with his sister. No problem, a cot was delivered within the first hour and DS used it for the 5 days we were there, no charge.

Thank you so much for your help. It seems like if we want to request a roll away, we will need to stay at one of the All Star Resorts rather than Pop. Do they still charge you $10 a night if you are not exceeding the room limit?

Have you considered getting an Aerobed? They are very comfortable and blow up in seconds. DD slept on one at the WDW resorts and was very comfortable. I slept on one for a month prior to moving because I'd sold my bed. Not bad at all. When you are not using it, you could just slip it under one of the beds. That is what we did.
