ROL planning

I know there is know official date for the start of ROL at AK, but I wish Disney would at least give a date when it will NOT be ready by!!! I am leaving one day in our plan for a rest day and then to AK at night for the show, but if i know it will not possibly be running by our dates, then i will pick another park and fastpasses for that day. We are going over spring break season.....is there any indication ROL will be up and running by then? Can anyone tell me it will be running no earlier than _______???????

A major operational failure...is more accurate.

Disney has been taking forever and spending a fortune (if you believe that) to install things of not great technology that have been very problematic. It's what happens when you basically chased all your good minds in imagineering away for 15 or so years.

This show is trying to try something different...and it's been a disaster. They can't pull it off. Not the first time...but not needed based on the competition, the overall business climate, and the amount of emphasis put on parks by the stock overlords in casa de dwarf

I'll definitely agree it's an operational failure. It's not a con though. I'd love to know how much they've spent on this.

Most people are assuming the blackouts during that are for avatar not RoL.

It only makes sense for avatar...a 20 minute nightly show wouldn't be cause for blackouts

Yup, sorry, my eyes were seeing ROL but my brain was thinking Avatar.

Absolutely do not plan your trip around ROL.

Agreed...never ever plan based on a construction schedule...especially in the island of misfit toys known as animal kingdom.

This. Plan an evening in DAK because it is stunning at night, has the Tree Awakening, and has great dining and a lounge that is amazing. DO nto plan for ROL. If and when it happens, you can make adjustments to your DAK evening.

I was just watching old family movies(we just had them put on dvds) and there was the Cypress Garden skiing...oh how I loved that...brought back wonderful memories.
