Has anyone been to this zoo and would it be worth a 60 minute drive to go there. My daughter and I and some friends are going to Strawberry Park this summer and we are looking for some local/semi local things to do...anyone have any whale watching tour info that they have been on tha tis good??Thanks!!!

I haven't been in about 3 yrs - not sure if it's worth the drive. There is also Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium.

I've been to Strawberry park - very nice place.

I went to Strawberry park with my godson about 15 years ago and loved it....I was at Mystic Aquarium about 3-4 years ago. I am really interested in a whale watching tour with my daughter....

Hi - I ususally go to Roger Williams once a year and it is definately worth the 60 minute drive (that is about what it takes me). It is a beautiful zoo with lots of animals (one of the highlights being the polar bears).

I would say go without a doubt. Also, check online at their site and just a google search in general and you can often find coupons. I use the entertainment book coupon which is a buy one get one.

Go and have fun!!

It takes us about 45 minutes to get there, and we usually go at least 1X a year. One year we actually bought a family membership.

It's a very nice zoo. It's laid out nicely. They don't have a ton of animals, but the way they put them in the habitats makes up for that.

The polar bears are great, but last fall when we were there, they were rebuilding that area.....no polar bears. I'm not sure if the website would say when they will be back.

If you have an extra day, by all means....drive up. I hear there's lots to do at Strawberry Park though!

Where's Strawberry Park?

RW Zoo is nice, thought it had slipped a bit last time we were there.

One zoo that we enjoy is Southwick's Zoo in Mendon MA. It has a lot of animals and while their habitats aren't as nice as RW, it is fun. They also have pony rides, camel rides, elephant rides and a deer park that you walk right into and you can feed the deer.
Also it is mostly shady :)

I'm a zoo member and am there at least once a month when the weather is nice. It's a wonderful zoo. The new red wolf pups are adorable

The polar bear exhibit is supposed to re-open next year but with Trixie's death I don't know if there's going to be a delay.
