We are waiting for rofr and a bit antsy. How long has it been taking these days to get the news? We want to plan our vacation but can't do anything. We need some Pixie Dust badly.

Nick

DVC has 30 days for the ROFR process, although many have reported hearing within about 10 days recently.

The seller will be the one notified by Disney (probably thru their broker) and the purchaser will get the result second hand from the seller/broker.

After ROFR, you may still be a few weeks away from being able to make a reservation. Resale purchases are usually entered into the DVC computer about a week after closing. Some have paid extra to the closing company to expedite the closing process, but I'm not convinced the additional expense speeds up the process by much.

Good luck! :)

Is that 30 working days or calendar days? Mine was submitted 4/2 and I'm still waiting to hear. I also heard Disney replies to brokers on Mondays & Tuesdays, is that true?

We just passed recently and it took exactly 14 days from the time GMAC sent the paperwork over to Disney. Here's some extra pixie dust and best wishes!!! :pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

I don't think so, but I don't know for sure.

I found out on a TH that I had passed, and I know that GMAC didn't know earlier that week because I spoke with them.

Your Broker should have a pretty good idea if the offer will pass, they deal with Disney everyday. From the time the offer is accepted by the seller, to the time you can make a reservation is 60 days on average.

It took us 2 1/2 weeks to pass but this was during a busy time period for disney with rofr's. ;)

We submitted ours on 4/1 and heard we passed ROFR on 4/14. That was 9 business days or 12 calendar days. We should close in the next couple of weeks.

Kimmy, something is wrong if you haven't heard yet. Start calling. We previously had an offer accepted on a Marriott. They also have ROFR and 30 days to reply. On day 31 they ROFR'd our week. They lost our paperwork and only looked for it when our agent called on day 29 to see what the delay was. There have been some reports of paperwork getting lost between the resale office and Disney after ROFR but you are now outside that 30 day window. Someone has screwed up somewhere. What reseller did you go through? Is that when you returned the paperwork or when it actually went to Disney?

There is no specific day that people hear. I know guys who found out on a Friday. Ours was a Monday; we found out on Tuesday.

Found out we'd passed ROFR (on a TH) 13 days after the offer was submitted/accepted. Received closing docs 20 days later, on a Wednesday.

I passed! :cheer2: I followed up with GMAC & they checked with Disney. They said it was sent directly to the Title company. I should be getting the closing documents this week!

Thank you everyone for the advice!

Congrats!

We submitted for ROFR on 5/1 (or 5/2) for AKV so now we're playing the waiting game...we're hoping to hear back within a couple weeks!

Congrats!!!! I wonder why they didn't let you know? We got a phone call and an email. Oh, well. At least it was good news!!!:cool1:

I have to say, there's nothing worse than waiting. I'm around day 10 so far and it's killing me.

Ours took 10 days for ROFR. Now I see that was the easy part... we have been in estoppeland for 29 days. We are buying BCV and went thru GMAC...they have been great!

We sent back our paperwork on Monday 5/5 and now we're waiting to here - keeping our fingers crossed!! Between waiting on ROFR and counting down school days this month is going to take an eternity!!:scared:
