Have you ever tried buying/closing/getting a membership and points loaded in December?

I have not initiated a purchase in December but I finalized in December yes. Points wont load on this in December, like I said January.

Do you mind me asking what you paid? For AKL and BLT ? I know I paid more but I’m just curious

$95 pp and that was pretty typical then and even lower a little bit before.

I paid the mf because I felt it fair being early on in the uy and because I needed the points for a trip a few months out, but had I waited I could have gotten it at that price without paying mf, there were def a lot of ppl on the board that got an overall better deal than me.

I never thought id see $110 plus recently, but happy to see it

I haven’t seen VDH posted on a rofr thread so I go figure I’ll be the first. We already own direct at VDH / Polynesian and resale at Polynesian so we’re fine with the VDH restrictions as we always plan to go to VDH each year.

Double loaded contract where seller is paying 2024 dues for 2024 points banked to 2025, so we’re happy with the price point.

What is the savings per year over the life of the contract vs just buying 150 direct with incentives?

That’s $10,950 ($228/yr amortized) upfront plus a “TVM” savings of ~$438 a year (4% discount rate) and if they need to sell the depreciation hit is already taken. That’s ~$666 a year…

I wouldn’t want that to be my ONLY DVC contract…. but as an add on at a point hungry resort if someone already has DVC-Y… I get how someone could get there….

Definitely sums up our reasoning.

We did consider that Riviera resale is going for $110 per point and VDH could be a better resale deal potentially 2-3 years from now. However, we didn’t want to wait 2-3 years for cost to go down that far. Also a bit of a gamble as VDH might not follow Riviera’s trajectory given limited DVC options in Disneyland and given its central location with DisneylandForward.

We’re still looking to have 300 VDH points total for Aug UY (our pre-existing contracts are in Dec UY), a double loaded contract meets our plans for now. However, we’ll be closely monitoring the resale market and future direct incentives in hopes we get an even better deal on another 100-150 pt Aug UY contract in the next 1-2 years.
