So, if no bus from between MK and Epcot, perhaps an alternative way to get to Epcot from CR/BLT would be a Beach & Yacht or Boardwalk bus from the MK bus area. Maybe worth it if you'd prefer to start your Epcot visit from the Int'l Gateway rather than the front of the park.
Yes, this would be a decent back of the park option.
One major plus for BLT and Contemporary is that they can easily bus to and from anywhere by walking to MK.

Why? Isn’t that how people get to that area for restaurants?
Why? C’mon…. you know the answer….

There is a difference between using it for a restaurant on one of the hotel properties and using it as a sneaky way to get into EPCOT.

If everyone who couldn’t walk or use the Skyliner used a bus to those hotels to get into EPCOT then it would make every aspect of the experience worse for the paying guests of those hotels.

People need to stop trying to “work the system” in such a way that they think will make it better for them but ends up making it worse for everyone.

I dunno, that’s a lot of extra effort to walk to MK and THEN wait to take a bus to the resort and THEN walk to the international gateway. If you’re that committed, which I expect only a small group of people is, I say enjoy! We own at BLT and I’d rather just Lyft over if I was that opposed to the other transport. I don’t think you have much to worry about.

I hope that security turns anyone away that tries to get dropped off at BC/YC/BW and makes them get dropped off at the front of EPCOT just like everyone else IF they are not a guest of the hotel or have an active dining reservation during their window of arrival that also has a cancelation fee…… just like everyone is not allowed to take a Lyft to BLT and then walk into the MK…..

That's sort of how I was thinking about it. Maybe in the same category of Caribbean Beach guests using a Riviera bus instead of the dedicated CB buses. Will some people do it? Sure. Will they end up saving time? Maybe, it's a gamble. Will it be enough people to ruin the bus experience for RIV guests? Seems highly unlikely to me.

Seems much different to me than say, booking a dining reservation, getting your parking spot at a resort, and then just staying there all day/night and enjoying one of the nearby parks.

Would anyone doing this actually be violating a Disney rule (similar to guests making a dining reservation but parking for longer than their allotted time)? My understanding of Disney transportation was that anyone can ride any of it - for example, if someone wanted to park at Disney Springs, bus to RIV/CB/HS/BW/BC, and go joyride on the Skyliner, all for free, there isn't any rule they'd be violating. Or, similarly, if they wanted to bus to monorail area and joyride on the monorail. Maybe I'm wrong though. That was just my understanding. And, maybe you're just saying you think it should be a rule.

I’m just thinking back to our grand Californian stay and how much it slowed the line down to do that check. I understood why they had to do it there since it was a small entrance intended only for hotel guests and lots of non-guests might try to use it. Still, the checking everyone’s reservation took a while. This doesn’t seem feasible or, frankly, reasonable for a larger entrance that was not designed exclusively for one resort. Or even a couple of resorts. They’ve already added skyliner resorts. Adding a security check to address a small group of others who MIGHT go to that trouble would just be cutting off your nose to spite your face in terms of entry time.

I don’t see it as a work around though. Maybe they want to enter from IG vs the front.

And, if someone would rather use a bus vs the monorail when Disney doesn’t provide it then I don’t think it matters because the IG isn’t there only for certain resorts.

Same with Skyliner. If someone wanted to take a bus to Riviera to jump on the Skyliner to get to Epcot or HS, I think that would be fine.

It’s not like any of these options would be easy or a huge time saver, so I can’t see very many people deciding to do that vs taking the typical mode of transportation.

I believe in the morning they won’t allow people into the resort via uber or Lyft unless they are a guest or have a dining reservation.

Doesn’t RIV do something similar? Anyone can arrive via Skyliner, but they don’t want people getting dropped off at the hotel and then jumping on the Skyliner…..making the experience a worse for people who are paying $$$ cash rates….

RIV is very strict and does not let anyone in. The MK and Epcot resorts have definitely gotten more strict in not allowing people in via ride share.

They can using any Disney transportation, including the Minnie Van service.

I’ve been doing this for the better part of 15 years and never thought anything of it. I cross-cross all over WDW on buses, monorails, and boats and it never occurred to me that it could be interpreted as sneaky, or negatively impact other guests’ stays. And I say this as a BWV owner.

Sometimes to get to EPCOT, I’ll walk from MK through VGF to POLY to get on the monorail there…no other reason except I’m on vacation and like wandering around. 🤷‍♀️ If I buy a dole whip, would that make it better? Just seems like a slippery slope.

Makes total sense to me why Uber/Lyft cars wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) be allowed through the gates of any WDW resort unless they’re picking someone up or transporting a confirmed hotel guest, whether that be for a dining reservation or for lodging. I mean, what would prevent someone from saying they’re an Uber/Lyft driver and then just parking for free and going about as they please.

But, once you’ve entered the Disney bubble appropriately (and within Disney’s rules), seems to me any Disney transportation is available to you.
