meleemouse---$114-$23709-200-AKV-Jun-0/23, 394/24, 200/25, 200/26-Seller pays MF '24- sent 9/14

I recognize that a 200-pt AKV contract can be had for less, but the seller paying dues on all of those 2024 pts and the banked pts from 2023 were really appealing to me :)

I couldn't quite stomach the prices of direct at the new tower so decided to try to scoop up some resale! I believe there is a sister contract if anyone is looking for a loaded contract, although the 24 points are banked and expire Feb 2025.

I’ve been looking at those twins for awhile. Are you willing to share your opening bid and counter? Did you ask for buyer to start dues only in 2025? Details please

That was actually my opening bid so I probably could have gone lower to start. I am paying for the 2024 dues since it did have 2023 and 2024 points I thought that was reasonable.

Based on recent ROFR times, and especially post closing load times, I think it’s virtually impossible that those points will load before the 7m window for late May. Not to be too much of a downer, but I would not anticipate having home resort priority with them before end of June, and that could be a stretch if your seller is slow returning paperwork.

We’re hoping DVChelp.com‘s estimates are accurate for next year. Cutting it close, but might just be able to snag one.

Just remember not that long ago AKV was going for 145.. no need to justify here, congrats!

Hi Neighbor! I just closed at $116pp (plus service fees and all MF) so try not to look at the people who paid less than us lol. Nicely loaded for 2024! See ya at AKV!

bensation---$155-$19580-120-VGF-Aug-0/23, 120/24, 120/25- sent 9/13, passed 10/8!

So excited. First add-on. Originally got ROFR'ed on 100 points at VGF in August 2020. Put it on the back burner and happy it went through this time.

Potigant---$120-$20797-160-BLT-Feb-0/23, 0/24, 122/25, 160/26- sent 10/8

First contract of my own after a BWV direct deed transfer from parents that I'm sharing with a sibling. I wanted more points and a home resort near MK. I had narrowed down my wish list to BLT, CCV, and SSR. This is a different use year than the BWV so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully this holds us over for a while. My kids are 5, 3, and 3 mo and we live out of state. Thanks to the community for helpful discussion for this newbie!

Congrats! For the Seller's sake, I hate to say this, but for the next 9ish days (until your deposit becomes non refundable) keep an eye out for a same Use Year contract at a decent price. You got a great price on this, but as many of us will share, while multiple years "can" be worked around, there are years when it's such a project to keep it all sorted out lol. The upfront cost is only a portion of what you're paying ;)

The poster is likely to have a different membership number for this contract in any event given that the first one is shared with a sibling and it sounds like this one isn't. So the benefit of same UY may not be as applicable.

True, although there is still the extra mind projects of when points are available and need to be banked. In this person's situation (two Membership IDs) they would have the best of both worlds - easy planning, and double the waitlists, with one use year ;)

I appreciate the advice and have questioned whether I thought it through enough. My reasoning was:

- I think most trips with our kids will fall in Mar-May. Any future add-ons would ideally also be February for simplicity, and that is the month I would have chosen if starting from scratch
- June BWV is 150 points I'm sharing with a sibling with similar aged kids. I envision I would use these points every 4 years or we'd do a joint trip with them every ~3 years. 18 years til expiration makes me think this is 5-6 trips max on this contract
- I'm a "spreadsheet guy" and CC/bank account churner which requires a lot of tracking. I don't know anyone else in my circle who "enjoys" the hobby as much as me so obsessively tracking / planning seems to be uniquely in my DNA.
