Well, I've been wanting to build up starting a few years ago, but wanted to see if prices would come down. Luckily, they have! Sill need...well, want...to purchase more BLT points.

The goal is 1 BR, ~10 weeks a year: 2 weeks at AUL, 2 weeks concierge AKV, 2 weeks VDH (I already own there, but wish I had purchased VGC resale instead. Oh well.), rest at BLT/BCV/BWV...really anything but OKW (sorry OKW lovers!!).

Since I'll have enough points for 1 BR's, I'm hoping to be able to use them at BCV/BWV without too much difficulty.

The plan is to rent out some of the points I don't need right away. This process was also made much easier by letting my Invesco QQQ grow an additional 3 years...

This is our first DVC contract. After staying at RIV twice, BCV once, and visiting other resorts, we are 1000% confident in our purchase and beyond OK with the restrictions. Nothing quite like Riviera at WDW. We would live there if they’d let us.

Hoping we can get these points in time to book a 1 bedroom for late May.

Based on recent ROFR times, and especially post closing load times, I think it’s virtually impossible that those points will load before the 7m window for late May. Not to be too much of a downer, but I would not anticipate having home resort priority with them before end of June, and that could be a stretch if your seller is slow returning paperwork.

Sadly, as HyperspaceMountainPilot mentioned, some things such as ROFR/Seller Notarized Docs/Disney Member and Point Allocations can each take a bit of time. If you have a contract that is unlikely to be ROFR'd, you can always ask if Escrow will send the Seller their documents as soon as your 10 days are past - that may save a little time.

Happy with this one. It’s our second contract at AKL. We really like the resort. Can’t wait for the refurbishment in 2025 or 2026. We now have enough points to bring family and friends so they can enjoy Disney as much as we do.

Congrats! We love RIV too. Resale RIV is a fantastic value if thats the only place you want to stay at.
