I travel down to LA from time to time and will add on an extra day if a DVC room is available (fly out day before instead first flight of the day). With an Inspire Pass and the hotel reservation calendar, I never worry about blackout and the extra cost is minimal (minus the merch I bring home for the fam).

With that said, every time I go to VDH it makes me happy that I own at VGC and have VDH to visit….

Although…. I did buy a bit of Disneyland Hotel (not Villas) merch this time.
Killer shirt!!
DLH is one of the original characters. ;)

MommaKetch(seller)---$115-$42484-350-BCV-Feb-0/23, 66/24, 470/25, 350/26- sent 8/22

*Edited as I mixed up the send date (was not 8/12!)

I've been lurking to see if it was one of us who snapped up my fire sale. I was hoping! We had fun with it and used points for five trips to WDW over the past year, three of which were at BCV. But, it is time to diversify. Currently waiting as a buyer on a 75 pt CCV to go to ROFR.

Adding that I had trips booked for 2025, and had it not sold I would have used the 66pts in holding before Feb. But, obviously changed my mind on my original stance to ride out the 2042 contract. :boat:

I have a question about submitting points in holding on the ROFR string.

When I originally submitted my string, I indicated that for 2024 we had 58 points, and then in the comments I noted that 142 points from 2024 were in holding. I was told that I should have shown 200 points in 2024 instead since that was the total number of 2024 points available.

I now want to update my ROFR thread. So if I post it showing 200 points in 2024 and not how I originally posted it, is that OK? I am under the impression stats are kept on this so I don't want to throw off anyone's groove.

Thanks!

For the string you should submit the number of points available for each use year. for example if your 2023 points were banked into 2024, you include those points in the 2024 total. if the holding points are 2024 points and are in the 2024 use year (not banked or borrowed) then you would include them in your 2024 total. in the comments you can include that 142 2024 points are in holding.

Ok. Thank you!

The whole buying decision was a bit weird because my wife had previously made VERY clear that she would not approve the buying of any new points.

We just got back from a lovely time at Aulani and my wife mentioned that she was pretty surprised that I didn’t push to get some VDH points when we were there to have more options at Disneyland.

I was a bit shocked by her statements and responded that I didn’t think any other purchases would be approved and wanted to respect what she had previously told me.

She opined that she was happy that I listened and was respecting her feelings, but thought it would be easier to use our direct AUL points at VDH for Villas and wanted the flexibility to travel during some of the higher points seasons. Bottom line: she wanted to make sure we could take two trips per year to Disneyland and stay in 2BDs.

I think it also helped that I was able to rent out a number of Aulani points that we weren’t going to use fairly quickly and used the proceeds to cover a good portion of our dues for the year.

We went back and forth and decided that adding a small amount of VDH points wouldn’t make any sense. #1 shes angry at VDH for ruining the flow of The Disneyland Hotel (can’t argue with emotion folks, this is someone who has been going to Disneyland for the last 40+ years of her life) and #2 because it’s actually easier to get Villas at VGC. (for the record I am fine with VDH and will be there for a night this coming Thursday)

I saw this contract and thought it was a fair deal at the list price of $235pp, but noted it had been on the market for over 40 days and had a delayed closing. I emailed the agent, from whom I have bought other contracts and have a good working relationship, to inquire about the points because DEC UYs can be a bit wonky.

She responded fairly quickly that it had full 2024 points. I offered $220pp, but the agent responded that they already had an offer and that the seller countered the other buyer at $230. The buyer had not yet responded to the counter offer so she would give me the same counter because she wouldn’t need to email the seller for approval at that price.

I quickly replied back “I accept” and that was it.

This will bring us up to 622 points at VGC (and 1822 total), which should get us 8-9 nights in a 2 bedroom or 11 nights in a one bedroom per year.
Congrats! Love VGC!
